Unique Video Shows Shuttle Endeavour at ISS

Newly released video shows the International Space Station together with the space shuttle, the vehicle that helped build the complex over the last decade. The video was shot by European Space Agency astronaut Paolo Nespoli from the Russian Soyuz spacecraft that undocked from the station on May 23. He, Russian cosmonaut Dmitry Kondratyev and NASA astronaut Cady Coleman were departing the station for a return to Earth after five months on the station. Nespoli documented the station from a distance of 600 feet as it was rotated 130 degrees.

Visit the ISS in 3D with Paolo Nespoli

Paolo Nespoli spent 6 months on-board the International Space Station from Dec 2010 through to May 2011. In this video he shot using ESA's Erasmus Recording Binocular (ERB-2) stereoscopic camera during various phases of his MagISStra mission, he caught some moments that depict the work astronauts carry out on the ISS: from educational activities, to scientific experiments and physical training, also demonstrating the way astronauts move in weightlessness through the various modules. ERB-2 is the first camera to transmit 3D images live from space. ESA would like to thank all the astronauts featured in the film: NASA astronauts Catherine (Cady) Coleman, Ron Garan, Scott Kelly and the united ISS Expedition 26-27 and STS-134 crew including ESA astronaut R. Vittori.

ISS Pass Over the USA - North View

See more at news.discovery.com This video was taken by the crew of Expedition 29 on board the International Space Station. The sequence of shots was taken October 18, 2011 from 07:09:06 to 07:27:42 GMT, on a pass from just south of Alaska to eastern Cuba. The camera used for this imagery was north-facing, so the Aurora Borealis stay visible throughout the video. Lights from southern Canada show up before passing into central North America. Through the clouds, the peninsula of Michigan can be seen, with Chicago brightly lit at the south end of Lake Michigan. A few lightning storms can be seen in the large cloud mass over the Central United States. Finally, many large cities can be seen on the East Coast of the United States, including Atlanta, Georgia. Near the end of the video, the eastern half of the Florida peninsula can be seen, as well as the lighter shallow waters of the Bahamas. NASA Commander Mark Kelly appears at U2360° in Seattle

U2 delivered a surprise to the crowds at Quest Field, Seattle last night with a video message from Commander Mark E. Kelly. Bono dedicated 'Beautiful Day' to Gabby Giffords, before asking, "Imagine a man looking down on us from 200 miles up. Looking down at our beautiful crowded planet... What would he say to us...? What is on your mind Commander Kelly?" Commander Kelly, on a 16-day mission with the Endeavour crew, recorded the message aboard the International Space Station, "Hello Seattle... from the International Space Station." Before finishing on a line from David Bowie's 'Space Oddity' : "I'm looking forward to coming home. Tell my wife I love her very much... she knows." U2360° has worked with NASA and the International Space Station throughout this tour - having previously linked up with Belgian astronaut Commander Frank De Winne, Michael Barratt of NASA, Bob Thirsk of the Canadian Space Agency, Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, and Gennady Padalka and Roman Romanenko of the Russian Federal Space Agency as well as Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte during his visit to the International Space Station.
