HOMEMADE Inverter generator
This is my recently built homemade generator. Well technically its a two stage DC/AC generator. Its a very powerful machine! Technical details -A Honda Clone 6.5 HP 4-Stroke gasoline engine -2 Lucas alternators hooked in parallel (110A (55A each) -4AWG wiring -A 12V Faze gauge -A 12V halogen fault light -An isolator switch -A Cobra 2500W inverter (5000W peak) (Square wave) It took me about three days to finally get it up and running. It can power a wide variety of items like a TV or a microwave of some power tools, maybe even some lights. My future project is to take the inverter off the system, get a marine deep cycle battery, find a bad outboard motor-take out the motor and install a 12v 3HP DC motor. I'll install the electric outboard on my dinghy, run the engine which charges my marine battery and powers my motor!

Grid Tie Inverter & Lead Acid battery to Alkaline battery projects update! Thanks to Sean, I have 2 test batteries, they are standard lead acid batteries that would find in any car. These batteries are pretty dead and dont pull many amps, they are weak but I will be taking the acid out of them and converting them to Alkaline batteries. I will be using allum for this up and coming project. The next up coming video will be my grid tie project and review. I will use my solar panels that make DC power from the sun.. The Grid tie inverter will take that DC power and turn it into AC and pipe it back into my homes electrical system. So the more solar panels and more grid tie inverters I have the less I will pull from the power grid. This is pretty exciting and I will share all my findings with everyone. Transistor DC to AC power inverter
This video shows a DC to AC power inverter that has a regulatet output voltage, and there is no intergrated circuit used. The 50Hz square wave signal gets generated by a 2 transistor oscillator. The 50hz square wave signal then gets amplified with driver transistors, which "drive" the fullbridge that consists 2 TIP122 and 2 TIP127 darlington transistors. So this fullbridge switches the transformer to the power supply and changes it´s polarity - that results AC and this AC is beeing amplified by the transformer. The voltage regulation system consists mainly a voltage divider and a transistor that is "pre biased" and then gets negative voltage from the voltage divider. The NPN transistor then amplifies the difference from these voltages and leads it to the TIP127 PNP transistor which is mainly reliable for the power that gets fed into the transformer. This power inverter does not have that good efficiency. The transistors get pretty hot after some minutes of running the CD radio that I showed. Also the input voltage must be at least 6V higher than the transformer voltage...With a 18V transformer, and 24V input to the power inverter I was able to power a 230V 40W bulb at it´s normal brightness, but the bulb was "flickering" so I don´t know if that came from the power supply or the inverter. This project is rather some kind of "proof of concept" project that I made, but I will share the circuit diagramm soon so you can re built the inverter if you want. The frequency is <b>...</b>
