This is a Wizards & Warriors 2 video on the NES. This video shows how to complete level 1. Its not a speed run and no cheats are used. I did saved my game after level 1.1 as you can see. The game will stop for about 8 secs and you can see my mouse on the screen. Please dont pay attention to it, I am just a beginner with making video's and I dont know how to cut that piece out (yet).

IronSword is a tremendous game, and a challenge. However, most of the bosses aren't, with the exception of the final battle. Those suckers will juggle you around the mountain if you aren't careful. In retrospect, I should have saved my Silver Fleece for Water and Wind. I'm not sure what the hell I did to the wind portion of the final battle, but whatever, I'll take it :P.

In this video I play along with my own recording, so it's not "live", the notes I play in the video are correct though ;-) I recorded a clean version of the ironsword intro before, but I wanted to do a heavy-guitar-sounding one now. I was never really so great at Ironsword, but nothing Game Genie couldn't help me with. I used to just leave it on the title screen sometimes though and listen to this theme. "You are Kuros." Drama! Notes: 1) Yeah, it's been about a thousand years since my last upload. Work and life got in the way. There are a couple of little bobbles but nothing that warranted a bunch of runthroughs, so there ya go. 2) The theme's pretty simple, so this time I decided to try a couple of bits of compositional license. The second variation was tough, because it's been years since I had to teach my left hand to play a melody while my right hand filled in.
Here's a blast from the past. I always loved this tune from the NES 8-bit days. In its simplicity always seems to evoke great feeling inside me. I bet people could play this really easily on a piano or guitar. Also, I always got my ass kicked by this game and never got past level 1. Yeah I was a little 9 year old noob at the time. But I will always remember the great music. Enjoy!

Soul Calibur 3 custom character weapons of Lance and Iron Sword. These are 2 of my 10 "Sword Master" custom characters, using the various weapons the game offers to custom characters that are Sword Masters. There are 17 (unlockable) weapon classes in all and each class has 6-8 different (unlockable) weapons and only a Sword Master can use them all. The 13 other Custom Characters can only use a certain weapon such as only the Nunchaku. The 17 (unlockable) Bonus Characters also only use a certain weapon class all of which the custom characters can make use of. The game has 25 Standard Characters (some you have to unlock to play), 17 Bonus Characters, and up to 10 Custom Character slots per your memory card save slots. Each character has 6-8 weapon options, and again you have unlock all of them. For instance I equipped Nunchakus with a knife tip at the end, and I equipped 2 different Staffs. They also have health, ring out, power and such tied to them, aside from the obvious length and size differences. Instead of a Sword Master custom character I could have made a custom character using the Gladiator as the model, but would of been stuck with only the Lance as a weapon. You also have to unlock the custom clothing options. Katana & Shuriken Kunai - single knife thing Katana Chinese Sword Chinese Blade Grieve Edge - boot knives attached to shoes. Staff Lance Steel Fan - odd shape fan weapon Sickle - a extending stick / turns into whip Dagger Iron Sword Sword & Shield <b>...</b>
Things start to heat up (Okay, last hot pun, I'm sorry) as Kuros gets to the Fire Mountain and has to assist a dragon to deal with the third form of Malkil. Also, apologies to those still suffering from Ball Jacks flashbacks, but this world involves magical balls. Also, we start Earth World.

Why is the best sword in the game shorter then my last sword? How can a mountain be made of two conflicting elements, one of which isn't even solid? How DID Malkil take over the power of the elements anyway? Is Kuros wearing paper equipment? None of these things will be answered. But at least the music is nice. Unlike Skull & Crossbones (see my speedrun of that game), this one actually deserves its reputation as one of the hardest games around. The controls are a bit sloppy, but more important is the fact that the entire battle system is luck-dependent. Specifically, swinging your sword gives you a higher chance of killing an enemy but also a higher chance of getting hit, while jumping at an enemy is "safer" (but by no means invulnerable). The amount of damage dealt by enemies is also random, as is their spawning. You can and likely will have enemies appear right in front of you with no time to react, losing half your life in the process. Furthermore, this game has one of the toughest final boss battles ever. I have yet to find a way to beat them without the Silver Fleece spell; it makes you invincible to projectiles and you can use it 3 times, which is huge since you don't have room to dodge their shots and hit them at the same time. Tom Votava (rdrunner0077, check out his account!) has an excellent run of this in 13:00, but it does not make use of a particular glitch banned by Twin Galaxies. Since there aren't any glitched runs out there, I figured I'd show everyone what one looks like. The glitch is performed at the end of each level: Stand right by the door and shoot the Ironsword piece while remaining next to it. If done properly, you will keep your magic spell, keys, and magic meter for the next level. This allows for a number of significant sequence breaks which are all <b>...</b>

Hey there! Here's another video game metal cover, this time the title theme from Wizards & Warriors II: Ironsword. I'd been thinking of what to cover, when I heard this song, and felt that I just had to make one. I hope you enjoy it! This one only has 4 guitar tracks, so the video split should cover all the guitar parts. I didn't use my Gibson for this one, partly because I didn't feel like tuning it down, and partly because frankly, I kinda forgot. Oh well. It's still my Fina FAC-603CEQ for the acoustic parts and my old Ibanez RG 270DX for the rest. As usual recorded through my POD X3 Live. Cubase for the samples, drums and bass, and recorded and mixed in Sony ACID 5.0. My webcam, however, outright refused to record in anything higher than 15FPS, and I had to record through Logitechs QuickCapture system, so it's a bit lower quality video this time around. Self-cloning again thanks to Sony Vegas 8.0. This time, the guitars are tuned down to Drop C - that is down one step and then another step for the 6th string: e--d B--A G--F D--C A--G E--C This would have been slightly more enjoying to make if I hadn't decided to only work on it when I really didn't actually have the time to, as well as finishing it 8 AM when I have a cold, but then again, you don't make time for music. This is my speed run of Ironsword, for NES. This is probably the most difficult (and annoying) game in the Wizards and Warriors series, but like anything else, it can be taken down with the proper strategy. This can be done a bit faster, even without any extra tricks. The one tactic I avoid is the WindBane glitch, where you bring the spell that kills the first boss into Stage 2. That tactic is banned by Twin Galaxies (and I agree that it should be), so I don't use it.
Well heres my attempt at a game review. I choose a more uncommon game in the Nes library to review because it is deceitfully fun despite how unforgiving the game can be. Ironsword was also a childhood favorite of mine so I knew it would be a fun review to put together. I admire Anger Video Game Nerd and his brilliant work so it should come as to no surprise that he was an inspiration. It really is more fun to talk about the topics that frustrate you more then objectives from the game. To avoid any confusion from the intro and ending, I go by two aliases online which are hrechkaness and mitchBit. If some of my work has used the name mitchBit then thats because I may use it as a portfolio piece later on. My hrechkaness title is used for everything else, good or bad. Anyways, enough rambling.
