The Isley Brothers - Hello It's Me
The Isley Brothers are a highly influential, successful and long-running American music group consisting of different line-ups of six brothers, and a brother-in-law, Chris Jasper. The founding members were O'Kelly Isley, Jr., Rudolph Isley, Ronald Isley and Vernon Isley. Starting their careers in the gospel performing circuit in the early 1950s, they eventually crossed over to secular music first finding modest success in doo-wop until the release of their first million-selling hit, "Shout", in 1959. After several flops resulted in them being dropped from their record label, they found success again with sixties hits such as "Twist & Shout", later covered successfully by The Beatles and the Motown hit, "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)" in 1962 and 1966 respectively. The group didn't find success again until the end of the decade when their 1969 single, "It's Your Thing", (with Ernie Isley on bass guitar) was released. The song brought them success in the then-fledgling funk genre. After forming their own label, T-Neck Records, the group found modest success with their own recordings between 1969 and 1972 until revamping the group into a sextet in 1973 with the release of their landmark album, 3 + 3 album, this time featuring younger brothers Ernie Isley and Marvin Isley and brother-in-law Chris Jasper. The addition of Ernie, Marvin, and Chris led to their most successful period as they successfully mixed their brand of R&B with rock, soul and funk elements. Other <b>...</b>

Isley Brothers - Twist And Shout (Original Stereo)
"Twist And Shout" was written by Phil Medley and Bert Russell and was first recorded as "Shake It Up, Baby" by the Top Notes in 1960 with a very young Phil Spector producing. This recording flopped. Then the Isley Brothers decided to have a go at it, and Bert Russell changed the title to "Twist And Shout". Their recording with Ron Isley doing the lead vocal went to #17 on the pop charts during the summer of '62. The following year, the Beatles would famously cover the tune with John Lennon singing lead.

The concert on this DVD was filmed in America in spring 2005 and captures the band in excellent form led by Ron Isley's smooth vocals and Ernie Isley's hard edged guitar leads. Masterpiece is a 1985 record released by The Isley Brothers on Warner Bros. Records. For the first time since 1973, the Isley Brothers were once again a trio composed of the original members O'Kelly, Rudolph and Ronald Isley. It was to be the last album with O'Kelly Isley; he died a year after the album's release from a heart attack. The album is dedicated to their late brother Vernon Isley and parents Sally & O'Kelly Isley Sr. The album liner notes were written by Elaine Isley. The first generation of Isley siblings was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where they were encouraged to begin a singing career by their father, himself a professional vocalist, and their mother, a church pianist who provided musical accompaniment at their early performances. Initially a gospel quartet, the group was comprised of Ronald, Rudolph, O'Kelly, and Vernon Isley; after Vernon's 1955 death in a bicycling accident, tenor Ronald was tapped as the remaining trio's lead vocalist. In 1957, the brothers went to New York City to record a string of failed doo wop singles; while performing a spirited reading of the song "Lonely Teardrops" in Washington, DC, two years later, they interjected the line "You know you make me want to shout," which inspired frenzied audience feedback. (Rare Video)1996, Angela Winbush was featured on the Isley Brothers' (rejoined by brothers Ernie and Marvin) hit "Floatin' On Your Love", which was essentially a duet between Angela Winbush and Ron Isley. Niara approached me during the UFO Congress in Phoenix and reminded me that we had met a year before at the Laughlin event. Back then, due to time constraints, I wasn't able to interview her. Her demeanor was extremely low-key and unassuming and something about her story sounded to me as though it needed to be told. Niara enlisted in the Air Force back in 1979 and became a surface to air missle/anit-aircraft artillary radar specialist based at various bases around the US She was based for aprpoximately one year at Nellis Air Force Base working out at the Tonopah Test Range. And that is where these incidents occurred. Although her experiences are hard to believe, her down-to-earth way of relating the information if anthing, underscores how very real they were and the depth of depravity and cruelty implied in her treatment brings to light some very sinister dealings going on that include a race or races of ETs and the military, that if true, couldn't be more scandalous. If and when government disclosure ever becomes a reality this is the type of story that will be very hard to explain let alone acknowledge by those coming forward at that time.
