Improvisation and Hymn

Organist James Pollard, ECS choir directed by Martin van Bleek An improvisation (wallpapering during the collection) leading into the final hymn. Note the increasing delayed choir, due to the time it takes for the sound to reach me, during the process out. The congregation is also singing but stay in the stalls, hopefully they`ll hang around to hear the organ voluntary. The audio was recorded from the organ loft - "what the organist hears"

Whiter Shade Wedding March

I made this recording in my home studio, it`sa wedding march I created for a good friend of mines wedding. I used Hauptwerk with the Notre Dame de Metz sample set for the organ, the tuning set to concert pitch. Then imported the wave file into Cubase and added the brass (trumpets, trombone, horn, tuba) and string samples. There were to be many people processing into the church, each groups entrance is heralded by a fanfare. The theme is A Whiter Shade of Pale, and only appears proper at the entrance of the bride. References to themes are heard in the build-up. I put this on here for 2 reasons: 1. To show the great quality of Hauptwerk and realism of the organ sound and 2. because I thought it was a shame that it was only to be heard once. The Cavaillé-Coll organ is heard best through a good sound system (with a subwoofer to fully appreciate the 32' Principal)
