October 16, 1969 New York City goes nuts when underdog Mets win their first World Series against the Baltimore Orioles. The games were still played in the afternoons then. Transistor radios were on in almost every office in every building. We were at work when the cheers came over the radio. This was a spontaneous ticker tape parade, except on EVERY street in Manhattan. ...and no parade! The Mets were most likely, at the time, in their locker room celebrating. The final score of the Fifth game was 3 - 5 Mets

Phoenix Productions was getting ready for the opening of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's hit Broadway musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when the World Trade Center was destroyed by terrorists. But on the night of 9/11, nearly the whole cast showed up for dress rehearsal, perhaps looking for comfort among friends or a determination not to let this disaster throw us into despair. A decision was made based on the spirit of this amazing cast, and the show opened as scheduled, to a full house, September 14, 2001. Choreographed by Stacy Coppola.

In December 1992, a Nor'easter developed off the coast of New Jersey. Near hurricane force winds and tides almost 10 ft. above normal, took seaside towns by surprise. No warnings were issued. No weather reports predicted this unnamed storm. It lasted three days and caused excessive flooding, and left thousands without power for days. This is some of the video taken by the residents of one of those towns.

This is the off ride POV of El Toro at Six Flags in Jackson, NJ. The plot of land that this coaster sits on has had two pervious coasters on it. Te first one was Ultra Twister, it was a full circut steel Pipeline coaster from Togo. It ran on this spot from 1986-1988. Ultra Twister was a well traveled coaster as well. It was at two prevoius Six Flags parks and they were Six Flags America in the Washington DC area and Six Flags AstroWorld which was in Houston. Next on this site was Viper, another coaster from Togo, and it ran here from June of 1995 to 2004. A piece of Viper actually still exists as El Toro uses Vipers old station. Done with the history lesson and now on to El Toro. This ride was manufactured by Intamin AG and opened here on 6/12/2006 and is currently ranked 4th in Amusement Today's Best Wooden Roller Coaster in the World. It has a length of 4400ft/1341m, with a height of 181ft/55.16m, and a drop of 176ft/53.64m with the first drop at an angle of 76 degrees. El Toro has a top speed of 70mph/112.65kmh and a total ride time of 1 min 42 sec.
