These three flights on my Bobcat from Bob Violett Models are the latest after my maiden with it. Thing really does fly like it's on rails. The first flight I'm moving along at some good clips, and great landing,2nd flight has some high speed passes, inverted, slow passes, and 3rd flight has the best view, a Runway-Cam. See this thing come from overhead and pass you at 150mph, and the sound of a jet going by you as well. All filmed in HD. Now I have to make the Hero Wide Cam, mount inside the canopy, and not cause a lot of wind resistance, but still get a good clear view of outside the canopy and jet. Those flybys from inside would be the best on youtube. Countdown to Princeton, May 28th I'll be there for my first flights off of pavement. Nitroplanes has just introduced a "mild powered" Electric Ducted Fan Jet that is fun to fly. Not crazy about the battery connectors that it came with and the CG has to be just right, but it flies very nicely. Tony at NitroPlanes replaced the motor with a larger one, which really makes this plane scream, but for first time jet fliers with airplane experience, you will find this fun to fly. With a better beefed up nose gear, and about a 1/8 inch up elevator at neutral, this plane flies nicely and looks great in the air. It almost reminds me of a BD-5. Pilots the pre-flight is finally done, I had to replace the R flap servo which conveniently died shortly after I glue the fuselage together. I had to cut the top of the fusi to get access to the servo wires and now used mini rare earth mags to secure it. I was planning on this before I started and turns out I would need it sooner than I expected! Also with such limited space under the canopy I would suggest its a good mod on this plane as you can place the Rx there and dont have to worry about routing all the wires to the canopy area like I did... Because I have a 9 channel JR9503 I had to ditch the parachute, smoke bombs and ejection canopy for now because I wanted the TV on a switch, but since I ran all the wires up front I can change the set up easily-- could Y the L AIL, L ELEV, L TV and same for R side and Y the Rudder, Rudd TV and steering-- that way you save 3 channels for the chute, smoke and canopy release. In this config your TV is always on.

This is the rc ufo fantom it is a 3 channel indoor electric helicopter. It costs around 28 dollars; it flies for about 7 minutes and charges on the transmitter in about 30 minutes. It has a heading hold gyro, and it works really well. It's a coaxial helicopter meaning the main rotors spin in opposite directions canceling out each other's torque, to control left and right turns (yaw) one of the main rotors speeds up causing torque to spin the helicopter left or right. To control forward and reverse motion it has 2 fans, one on either side. They work very well for moving the heli forward and backwards consistently, and they are very well placed, it makes it very easy to fly it straight forward and reverse, with practice you can even make it fly sideways like it has a 4th channel. I like the steam punk design of the canopy; it has a very nice ufo look, with a hint of mad scientist. Although the shipping was pretty bad, the package looked like it went through the world cup and played the role of soccer ball, the company" toy of mine" was willing to replace the helicopter even though it wasn't broken or defective. They wear very adamant about improving their shipping policies. The helicopter is worth every penny, I strongly suggest you go and pick one up, it's the most fun I've had in the air in a long time.

The back 2 rotors of the aircraft spin in opposite directions counteracting each others torque. The back 2 rotors are also each at a slight angle to counteract the torque of the front rotor; on the alien jump jet they called this thrust vectoring. The front rotor has a small servo connected to it that tilts the whole rotor left and right, this is what controls yaw (spin). The front rotor also speeds up and slows down independently, this is what controls forward and reverse motion. _First flight_ Dont just take off from your coffee table yet because it can fly fast and if it isn't trimmed it'll be almost impossible to control and stop it from hitting something. It does not like to fly backwards so you need to trim it to fly slightly forward when you start out. You can trim it to move forward by spinning the dial in the center of the transmitter counter clockwise. This is the latest creation from the fertile mind of genius EDF designer Andy Chen...there IS a difference as to who designs these, this guy just has the magic touch, and it shows in the scale accuracy of the overall plane, and also in a lot of thoughtful little details and engineering that really make it stand out from the competition. It's beautiful! Small, and very high performance...Very high quality molding, lots of detail, good paint, good water transfer decals, clear canopy with cockpit deck(the pics on the nitroplanes website show an early prototype with a tinted canopy), easily removeable or replaceable landing gear, full flying stab, easy fan access for maintanance, lots of nice features. In the air, it's pure dynamite, everybody guesses it to be about 70mph, and that's very fast for such a small airplane! It's a whole level of performance above the rest of the RTF EDF jets... It's basically the smallest airframe that you can wrap around a 64mm fan. Hand launching is really easy, there is a grip molded in for doing it, and you don't need to heave it, it will fly away from just a light toss with no problems. Roll rate is tremendous, vertical performance is awesome, and downright speed, well...most EDFs, you fly around at full bore all the time, with this one, you want to save full throttle for verticals and high speed passes, and throttle back to half or two thirds to keep the thing manageable the <b>...</b>

This plane was a gotta have in my books. I've never owned a plane with electric retracts before let alone one with an electric canopy. Flight times are very impressive with this plane. Being at over 4+ minutes long on average its enough to really quench your EDF thirst! This was my Maiden so I wasn't sure what to expect for flight times. I made 8 flights today and only filmed the first 3. What you'll notice on this jet is its ability to come to a crawl to land, while yet still having enough speed to keep you on your toes. The Saunders-Roe SR.A/1 was a prototype fighter aircraft tested by the Royal Air Force shortly after World War II. The first prototype flew on July 15, 1947, and while it and its two sisters proved to have good performance and handling, the need for such aircraft had completely evaporated with the end of the war. Furthermore, the success of the aircraft carrier in the Pacific had demonstrated a far more effective way to project airpower over the oceans. In addition, the cockpit canopy was small and heavily framed, giving the pilot a poor view outside the aircraft. The project was finally abandoned in May 1951. The first prototype, TG263, has been preserved, and is on display at Solent Sky ( previously Southampton Hall of Aviation). Both other aircraft were lost in accidents during the four-year flight test programme. Although the aircraft never received an official name, it was referred to by company workers as 'Squirt'.
