How to Make a Floating Illusion Necklace - Jewelry-making Tutorial

This style of necklace is one of my absolute favorites. So simple and elegant! The beads on the necklace look as if they are "floating" because the wire is hard to see. Crimp beads are used as "stoppers" so the floating beads will stay in place. I was first introduced to this necklace style by this website: www.beadage.net Thank you, Emma! Materials list: - Beading board (if you do not have one of these then a ruler would be sufficient) - Beading wire (I used Accu-flex .019" size) - Crimp beads (I used twenty-four 1.5mm round) - Crimp covers (I used 3mm) - Some beads (I used eleven 8mm beads) - Clasp (I used a barrel clasp) - Wire cutters - Crimping pliers (or flat-nose pliers) Sources for materials: Beading wire, crimp beads, crimp covers, and beads are from www.firemountain.com. Heartfelt ♥ Necklace - Jewelry-making Tutorial

This necklace was a request by the lovely Clare (Youtube username: larceca9). She asked for an American Eagle style necklace so I visited their website. I found this heart charm necklace that I really liked and decided to make a similar necklace. Of course, I couldn't find the exact materials they used, but I searched around and found some pretty good substitutes. I hope you enjoy! Pictures of the American Eagle Outfitters necklace that I used for inspiration (it is no longer available on their website): i50.tinypic.com i47.tinypic.com i48.tinypic.com » This necklace is available on my Etsy store! « www.etsy.com ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ » Materials List « • Five 4mm jumprings (#h20-1392FN) • 19-1/2" inches of silver-plated 3x2.5mm cable chain (#h20-1963CH) • A Silver-plated heart toggle clasp (#h20-3969FD) • One Silver Plated Heart-Shaped Filigree Locket Charm, 26x26mm (purchased from TrendySupplier on Etsy) • One silver heart locket filigree, 23mm x 20mm (purchased from snookybootzi on Etsy) • Two long-nose pliers, I used a regular chain nose plier and a flat-nose • A wire cutter Note: If you have trouble finding any of the heart pendants, try searching on Etsy for "heart locket pendant" or "silver plated heart pendant". I did and I came up with a lot of great finds! Jewelry Making: Lumiere Paints, Gilder's Paste and Diamond Glaze Flower Necklaces, Pendants

In this video B'sue shares her latest techniques to colorize brass flower findings with Lumiere paints on a sponge, Gilder's Paste Accent and Diamond Glaze finish. She likes to drift very fine glitter into the final glaze for additional sparkle. Applying the Lumiere paints with a sponge on the clean metal takes on a washed tie-dye effect. Layer the petals to make dimensional floral clusters to wire on to a necklace crescent base (shown in the video) or to drip from chain to make showy designer necklaces. It's so easy you won't believe it! Just prep your findings first and in an afternoon you can compose MANY flower cluster charms or pendants, which can now become the focals of eye-popping fashion jewelry in the vintage style. The findings and copper wire (20 gauge) are sold at www,bsueboutiques.com Check out the video and then come visit B'sue at her website for more ideas (gallery links, etc) and also at her B'sue Boutiques Fan Page to see what others are doing with these techniques and B'sue Boutiques jewelry findings, tools, beads and stampings!

Greek Jewelry Making - Cypriot Filigree Designs (English)

In this video we see the making of fully handmade filigree jewelry. Filigree is a method which includes the twisting of very fine wires of gold or silver. An important aspect of the artistic heritage of Cyprus in this jewelry making and one which reveals middle eastern influences. These influences are connected with the history of the island and the many conquerors who passed by through the centuries. The adaptation of this form of art is most evident in the traditional Cyprus cross. However in the contemporary environment it is interesting to also highlight the way that this traditional method of jewelry making is being used to produce modern artifacts such as the gold chandelier earrings which are showcased at the end of the video.
