This is the demo video for Justin's latest DVD - Really Useful Strumming Techniques. Leaning to play rhythm guitar can be one of the most frustrating things for a beginner guitarist. It can also be a problem for more advanced players that never got it right when they started! This is the solution! This DVD starts at absolute beginner level and focuses on basic eighth note strumming patterns and continuous hand movement. It then develops the use of ties, picking out the bass note of a chord and the use of the muted strum as a percussive device - along with a whole lot of handy hints to help you get your rhythm guitar techniques solid. It finishes with a brief look at sixteenth note strumming and it's applications. There are 20 patterns studied during the DVD, each one fully explained and then played over and over again for you to play along with, and make sure you get in the groove and get it right! A simple, early-stage recording with lots of mistakes and hesitation. I see it as nothing more than a baseline improvisation from which I can measure my progress. This was recorded 10 January 2009 about 2-3 weeks after I had started to learn the minor pentatonic scale. I have started with the blues lessons from Justin Sandercoe (thanks!) on his amazing website justinguitar.com. I have played acoustic guitar, on and off I must add, for some years. I've had this Yamaha SG400 for even longer but never did learn how to do it justice so it has been in its case for the longest time. My grandson got an electric guitar for Christmas and I have been teaching him most weeks since. I'd like to teach him how to play lead so naturally need to be a few steps ahead and this has given me the incentive to get my SG back out and actually learn to play the thing. Equipment: Yamaha SG400, Yamaha GA15, recorded on Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 camera.

Jim Campilongo is one of the finest guitar players around. I only discovered him in early 2010 when he released his album Orange which a lot of friends were raving about. Ucim da sviram gitaru nesto manje od 3 godine, ali za Blues sam se zainteresovao tek pre nesto vise od 3 meseca. S' obzirom da sam ucim da sviram (Justin Guitar), zanima me vase, sto je moguce, objektivnije misljenje. Elektricnu gitaru sam pozajmio od ortaka za vikend i evo sta je ispalo, inace vezbam na akustari ako to ima neke veze. Izvinite na losem kvalitetu, ali nisam uopste ni planirao da postavim na you tube, ali eto skupio sam muda nekako...heheh Pozdrav svima. :) I am learning to play guitar a little less than 3 years, but I got interested in blues only just over 3 months. I'm interested in your objective as possible opinions. I borrowed Electric guitar from a friend, for the weekend and here's what i get, I am studying on acustic guitar if it has something to do whit enything.
