Mr. Wade was inspired to write the song by the death of a 16-year-old friend in an auto accident. The commercial dramatizes the issue by showing a highway crowded with cars - filled with teenage passengers - that suddenly disappear. "Every year, nearly 6000 teenagers go for a drive and never come back," says the actor Dennis Haysbert, the Allstate spokesman. He asks the parents watching the spot to "start the conversation" with their teenage children about driving safely. This is a really old b-side they played live only once as far as I know and there is only one low quality recording of this song... I wanted to give it a shot.. I messed up the ending a bit but here you go :) This is also the first time I used my camera for video only and used a proper mic to record the audio so if it looks a bit off it's because of that. Everything is live and unedited except to remove some background noise.

I normally use my digital camera when I record music for Youtube but I stumbled upon this song I recorded with my actual mic a while ago and I thought I'd share it even though it doesn't have video. The song was written by Jason Wade of the band Lifehouse. The equipment used are a Behringer V-AMP2, an audiotechnica condenser mic for the acoustic guitar, a Sennheiser vocal mic and CoolEdit Pro to put a soft delay behind the vocals. I'm putting this up simply because the normal way I record videos the camera really distorts the sound as it's trying to compensate between both the guitar and vocals at the same time and as you know a consumer digital camera isn't really made for recording music. I thought this would give you a better idea of what I really sound like. Youtube makes it sound a little bit fuzzy as I just noticed but it should be okay :) I hope you enjoy :) HQ audio: www.mediafire.com
