It's here on youtube somewhere. His video and my video are different because of one very important detail: Gondy filmed himself doing drumming sequences and LOOPED them, while I hit each drum and piano chord seperately and edited them together. This is a very big difference if you have any idea about video editing. Actually, there is a short sequence of 5 sec where he does cut the beat, but I didn't notice this until recently, which makes me an idiot. But I still don't think it's a rip off, only similar. SO one question to you guys: If I write a song which includes the words "love" and "tight", am I ripping off The Beatles?? :PI met Michel Gondry in Milan, Italy and asked him. He didn't really give me a clear answer, but it seemed like he thought so. Either that or he didn't like my clothes. Lol.

OK, first of all, I hate soccer! But I thought to myself, what would make even me start watching it? Therefore I made this little film, a soccer match set in the year 2097 where the games has evolved some new interesting rules :P I'm not completely happy with it. It's just too damn violent! So much that it isn't funny at the end, you know? I sliced it down a little bit though, had some unnecessary long pauses and shit. How it's made: Hand drawn animation scanned into Photoshop and colored frame by frame there. Backgrounds are hand painted in aquarelle, and everything is edited together with Premiere. Music made with FL Studio.

Youtube aka Google finally decided to extend their 10 minute limit to compete with Hulu, and I can finally upload the film that I might consider my best work yet, and definitely my most personal film. It is my first real professional short, and was produced by Alligator AS in Bergen, Norway. It is basically my first attempt of videographic shamanism. It is a story about a persons life and death told in 8-bits video game graphics. I made it in about half a year together with my best friend Trygve Knudsen, who made the 3D-sequences. I made all the 8-bit-shit :) We worked on and off with it from February 2008 and completed it in January 2009. It has been screened at a bunch of film festivals all over the planet, and is originally made for 35mm film with surround sound (kicks in during the 3D-sequences). Therefore it might be perceived as being a bit sloooow, but fuck you and your internet attention span in that case :p The 8-bit stuff is designed in Photoshop and animated with After Effects. I downloaded emulators for Amiga, Sega, Nintendo and so forth and had to play a shit load of games to look at the graphics and game play for inspiration. It was pretty sweet to get paid for that :) The music is composed with FL Studio. There are a lot of references to people and movies, and not to mention; video games, that have contributed inspiration wise, and if you turn on annotations, you'll get it all revealed :) You can download a shortened version of the soundtrack from www.nrk <b>...</b>

OK, this video is very ego, sorry about that! My dad suggested to upload it, and I though, what the hell.. The language is norwegian, but I did my best to subtitle it in english. If you hear the word "tits-machine", don't worry, it means "time machine" in norwegian, lol! This video was my interpretation of the admission assignment for an animation school in Norway, which was to make a "self portrait in any technique". I was studying in England at the time (Spring 2005), but wasn't satisfied with that school, and wanted to try another place. I got in! How it's made: Filmed myself infront of a green screen, made it to a walking cycle which could be looped forever. The rest are pictures from England and Norway and books, and are just mashed together in Premiere. The music is me, played guitar and harmonica myself (two instruments I actually can't master) but it sounds ok enough. Music edited together in FL Studio.

Directed by Lasse Gjertsen Copyrights: Casa Musicale Sonzogno, Milan, 2007 This is a music video for the italian cellist Giovanni Sollima, on two of his compositions; "Terra Aria" and "Concerto Rotondo". Enjoy! www.sonzogno.it So this is the project I've been working on for the last 5 months, and heres how part 1 of it is made: On the six arms parts, which by the way took most of the time to make, I filmed Sollima playing the different layers of cello after each other. I then edited the video frame by frame in Photoshop (remember, it's 25 frames per second of video), cutting his arms out from the other layers and pasting it on top, matching the movement of the cello. This was done ca 4000 times, by myself. The clouds were actually filmed in my backyard, sped up 1250 times. The birds we're filmed in my town, Larvik, Norway on clear blue sky, so that I could use blue screen keying to put them on top of the clouds. It's hard to notice, but the birds are moving in half speed slow motion. I also had to stabilize the motion of the birds, since I filmed it with handhelt camcorder. The sequence was cut together using After Effects and Premiere. The forest, river sequence was photographed in a forest in Arona, Italy. I took a picture ca. every five meters, and morphed the images together using WinMorph, matching the pace of the music. The zooming sequence is very hard to explain. Basically, the first 8 seconds after it starts zooming and when you see Mr Sollima's face is real <b>...</b>
