Chico Alvarez - La Clave, Maraca y Guiro

Album: Putumayo (2007) "Putumayo World Music continues its exploration into the sounds of the Latin diaspora by releasing its first jazz-focused collection. One of the most familiar jazz genres, Latin jazz has achieved global popularity since big bands in the 1940s and 50s started incorporating Afro-Cuban sounds into their arrangements. This mixture of Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz stylings comes together on Latin Jazz, a lively collection of songs by masters of the genre. Latin Jazz features legends Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri and others." www.putumayo.com Very, very nice song and amazing cover! Song ends about 7.27, not 9.59. Sorry for that, it's just a movie maker error, you know... just enjoy the music.

Music was a major part of King Solomons life from day one. His fathers extensive record collection, ranging from the sweet Soul/R&B sounds of artists such as Marvin Gaye, Earth, Wind And Fire and Sly and the Family Stone to the classic Salsa Grooves of the 1970s including Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente and Ismael Miranda, would prove to have a huge influence on the young Solomon. At the formative age of 4 he would embark on what has turned into a life-long partnership with the piano. As a teenager King Solomon began studying at the Artists Collective in the Albany Avenue neighborhood of Hartford as well as Guakia, Inc., a Puerto Rican cultural center in the South End of the city. It was at these two institutions that he would begin an intensive study of both Jazz and various forms of Latin music under the tutelage of the late great giant of the Alto Saxophone, Jackie McLean, along with well-known regional musicians such as Joe Velez, Ray Gonzalez and Ed Fast. Throughout high school, Solomon attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts where he was afforded the opportunity of performing and studying with the likes of Dave Santoro and Paul Brown. Linda chicana - Cal Tjader ( latin jazz )

Linda chicana - Cal Tjader vibraphonist: Cal Tjader flutist: Roger Glenn drummer: Vince Lateano percussion: Poncho Sanchez Callen Radcliffe Tjader, Jr. aka Cal Tjader (July 16, 1925May 5, 1982) was a Latin jazz musician, though he also explored various other jazz idioms. Unlike other American jazz musicians who experimented with the music from Cuba, the Caribbean, and Latin America, he never abandoned it, performing it until his death. Tjader primarily played the vibraphone. He was also accomplished on the drums, bongos, congas, timpani, and the piano. He worked with numerous musicians from several cultures. He is often linked to the development of Latin rock and acid jazz. Although fusing jazz with Latin music is often categorized as "Latin jazz" (or, earlier, "Afro-Cuban jazz"), Tjader's output swung freely between both styles. He won a Grammy in 1980 for his album La Onda Va Bien, capping off a career that spanned over forty years.

Just Friends - Latin Jazz Style

My website at www.Lot2Learn.com offers downloads of midi files, PDF notation files and backing tracks for most of my videos. I started to learn this song last week and was pleasantly surprised to see that Doug (Jazz2511) had posted a wonderful tutorial version on his channel. My version is an uptempo (200 BPM) Latin style to contrast with his medium tempo stride style. Several things about this song standout to me. First is that the II-V (C-7 to F7) progression in bars 3 and 4 resolve to a G Major rather than the expected BbMaj7. This adds a wonderful melodic twist which is easily exploited during the improvisation. Speaking of the improvisation, I find that the rhythmicity of the lines is extremely important when playing in a Latin Jazz style. Also, notice on the A7#11 the use of the whole tone scale. I use many common motifs and techniques during the improvisation to try and connect my lines and make them coherent. As you might surmise, this is really a fun style for me. Charismatic 東方Touhou Classic/Latin Jazz 102

Title: 血で繋がったドッペルゲンガーArtist: 鯛の小骨 (Tainokobone) Circle: Azure&Sands Album: 八雲紫の多世界解釈Original: UNオーエンは彼女なのか? (UN Owen was her?) & 亡き王女の為のセプテット (Septette for the Dead Princess) You're not a true Touhou fan if you can't recognize these I picked this as the next video for more nostalgia, remember Merlin's first video? It was an amazing acoustic arrange of our ever-popular UN Owen. After all, it's thanks to this song that half of the touhou fans have come to know this wonderland we call Touhou, who's King of Hearts is none other then ZUN, who has (not so) elegantly captured all of our hearts with all the mindfuckings in Touhuou's plot and the amazing music he has gifted us. ZUN, you are more mystical then the Wizard of Oz, madder then the Mad Hatter more mischievous then even the Cheshire Cat and more of a lolicon then anybody on the face of this earth will ever be. Your music is like a drug, once you take a try of it you just cannot get away from it. Ah, Flandre, our favorite loli vampire. Times really do change, seriously Flandre went from a little girl who could destroy the whole world in a flash to "AWW, CUTE FLANDRE, *CUDDLEZ*". Charismatic Remilia, y'know I've always liked Remilia, more then certain other characters, I dunno why, I just plain like her, maybe it's the charisma? She might be the most pimp vampire around, even more then Slayer from Guilty Gear. "She claims to be a descendant of the world's most notorious ...
