Unlike what most Lebanese people think

The common perception in Lebanon that everybody knows the alpha started here is totally incorrect. Interviewing Europeans, asking them whether or not they know where the first alphabet came from or even if they know where the name Europe came from. The results: 4 out of 214 recorded interviews knew that the Alpha-Bet came from Lebanon. Only 8 knew where the name Europe (The Phoenician Princess Europa of Tyr) came from. PMO www.peacemissions.eu will soon make sure that this issue is in its proper perspective.

Activist arrested for supporting people in Syria by Lebanese authorities

Why was he arrested? He was arrested by the Lebanese authorities after a warrant was put out for his arrest for supporting the people of Syria in the popular uprising sweeping the middle east against the tyranny of the western puppet Bashar Assad. Imad Almanla is a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Lebanon. He was released after being imprisoned for 35 days after pressure and meeting with senior members in the Politburo of Hezbollah. Hizb ut-Tahrir in Lebanon has held several very large demonstrations in support of the people in Syria. It is a political party that works to re-establish the Islamic state in the Muslim world. Unique welcome for president Ahmadinejad in Lebanon | 2010 | Part 1

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived to a rapturous welcome in Beirut Wednesday. Huge crowds gathered in the streets of Beirut Wednesday to welcome President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The streets to Beirut's airport were lined from early morning by thousands of people, mostly Hezbollah supporters, many of them carrying or draped in Iranian flags. The Iranian chief executive, who is in Lebanon at an official invitation by his Lebanese counterpart Michel Sleiman, was warmly welcomed by a number of prominent Lebanese officials at Beirut International Airport on Wednesday morning. A large crowd of Lebanese people were cheering President Ahmadinejad and waving Iran's flags on his route to the Lebanese Presidential palace. He is scheduled to address international reporters in a press conference in the Lebanese capital. The Iranian chief executive will then meet with Iranian and Lebanese businessmen. Later the Iranian president will head to southern Beirut to visit the area where Israeli bombs destroyed the location during 2006 war against the state. Many analysts believe that President Ahmadinejad's trip to Lebanon is aimed at consolidating resistance's position against Israel. Earlier, President Sleiman had asked the Islamic Republic to equip the country's army and supply the state with defense industry. The Iranian president is so popular among the Lebanese nation and is seen as the sympbol of resistance against Israel as he has been outspoken, criticizing Israel's atrocities ...

Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammed Hussein Fadlallah Funeral Footage

Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammed Hussein Fadlallah was a leading Lebanese cleric who help lift the entire nation to become closer to our creator. His loss is great and his support for the Islamic resistance, his stances against US policies and the ZIonist regime, and his fatherly support to the nations downtrodden and orphans amongst many other accomplishments will greatly be missed. Much of what was reported about him in the media is mere propaganda and lies for his political stances in opposition to the hegemonic policies of successive US administrations. He passed away on Sunday July 4th, 2010 in Beirut Lebanon. He was buried at the Hassanain Masjid in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital.

Lebanon Nightlife

In the 70's, Lebanon was a very important destination for tourism. Unfortunately, the outside view of Beirut is, most of the time, the political cliché. Lebanese people love to go out. Life is for living. Nightlife in Beirut is, first of all, staying and being seen. It is the national sport of Lebanon! We have a really vibrant club scene. Really great music and DJs! Great cafes, restaurants, casinos, theatres... So many young people are coming back now to Lebanon. Beirut is a cultural melting pot. Lebanon is gaining again the role it had before the war. Check it out!

Lebanese Journalist Calls for Arab Introspection

Edit: This guys views are completely 100% exactly like what the American media presents it, and even the Americans don't eat all that crap up. So don't believe every word he says when it comes to anything related outside of Lebanon. Lebanese journalist Uqab Saqr, on Lebanese TV, criticizes Arab and Muslim identity as being based on hostility towards the "Other." Signs of growing voices of reform? Lebanese journalist Uqab Saqr is a Shiite Muslim, who is very well educated, and sees past Hezbollah, so please do not stereo-type all Lebanese Shiite Muslims. I do not agree about the first half of the things he says, he looks at it in a very different way, I don't agree with what he says in the first half of this video, but, in the second half of this video, I agree with most of what he says, he isn't that bright. This is the beauty of being Lebanese, and this is why we support our Sinoria government. We do not want Hezbollah which is controlled by Iran and Syria to enforce their laws and ways on to our people, when they know more then half of our population is against them and the highest ranking of all religions (Islam & Christianity) denounce Hezbollahs existence in general. The leader of Hezbollah is just a Sheik, and not a Mufti. He is a very low rank, who tries place himself to speak for the Shiite people first, then Islam, and now Lebanese, and some our fooled to this thanks to Michael Aoun, who has joined forces with Hezbollah, because he wants to be president and he ...

Lebanon Best Place To Visit

The history of Lebanon is almost as old as the earliest evidence of humankind. Its geographic position as a crossroads linking the Mediterranean Basin with the great Asian hinterland has conferred on it a cosmopolitan character and a multicultural legacy. At different periods of its history, Lebanon has come under the domination of foreign rulers, including Assyrians, Babylonians, Armenians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Ottomans, and French. Although often conquered, the Lebanese take pride in their rebellions against despotic and repressive rulers. Moreover, despite foreign domination, Lebanon's mountainous terrain has provided it with a certain protective isolation, enabling it to survive with an identity all its own. Its proximity to the sea has ensured that throughout its history Lebanon has held an important position as a trading center. This tradition of commerce began with the Phoenicians and continued through many centuries, remaining almost unaffected by foreign rule and the worst periods of internal strife. The earliest known settlements in Lebanon date back to earlier than 5000 BC. Archaeologists have discovered in Byblos, which is believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, remnants of prehistoric huts with crushed limestone floors, primitive weapons, and burial jars which are evidence of the Neolithic and Chalcolithic fishing communities who lived on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea over 7000 years ago. It was known that the ...
