Some shooting footage as well as my review of the classic Henry .22 Lever-action rifle. If you want to skip right to the review, it starts at about the 2:00 min mark. I can't believe I forgot to take my microphone along with me, so I had to really manipulate the audio in post... hopefully I have everything balanced well enough. This is one of my few reviews in FRONT of the camera and I think I sound a little ridiculous, but I was ad-libbing off the top of my head, and ended up sounding more like a commercial than a review. Oh well, next time I will be better prepared. I recorded this in south Texas, where that morning, while hog hunting at dawn it was right at freezing and close to 80 by that afternoon... gotta love Texas weather lol

The .357 Magnum gains about 300-500 fps velocity and goes from about 600 ft lbs of energy (in a 4 inch revolver) to about 1000 ft lbs of muzzle energy in a carbine like this. The marlin 1894C is great for plinking targets and hunting small game with .38 specials and Deer with stout .357 magnum loads. And because it shoots a pistol cartridge it does not cost much to shoot and is easy to reload for.

The ejector on the weapon engages and attempts to eject every time, however it does not toss the empties out, away from the gun very well and often they will simply spill over the edge of the open action. It has been stated by others that the Chinese faithfully reverse-engineered their reproduction gun to conform with original Winchester guns, which they used as models. This may be why I have seen this same ejection problem in other examples of these reproduction IAC/Norinco shotguns. However, I just do not know. The guns were originally (1887) designed for the 2 5/8" length shells, rather than today's 2 3/4" shells (which, of course I am using). I have considered the possibility of a "timing" issue of the empty shell not having completely exited the chamber at the moment the ejector "pops" or attempts to throw out the empty shell. Caution: I am not a qualified gunsmith - This video is some tips that I found useful, and my thoughts. If you decide to work on your rifle, research everything extensively! If you're in doubt, talk to a gunsmith. Wear safety glasses to avoid eye damage from springs. Remember you're mostly just polishing, you should not be removing much metal at all.
