True Life: "I'm a Hacker" (1 of 2)

In 1999, a certain "music" cable channel featured "I'm a Hacker" on their "True Life" series. A number of hackers were followed around the New York City area (Mantis, Shamrock, and Uglypig) discussing their adventures and, uhhh.. dialing into a BBS. After the episode aired, one of the filmed hackers (Shamrock) revealed that he intentionally misrepresented his exploits in order to hoax that certain "music" channel. A good review and discussion of this episode took place at H2K. Also includes an interview with the guys from the L0pht, which is the only decent part of this 20 minute disaster. How to Build a Hackintosh Mini for Less Than $600

We've build a few Hackintoshes at Lifehacker, but we generally go for the more powerful, Mac Pro-esque builds. This time we've decided to build a smaller, cheaper Hackintosh that's about the size of a NAS and costs less than $600. This video is part of a larger article that will walk you through the full process, which you can find here: lifehacker.com This system configuration is based on one by tonymacx86 (visit tonymacx86.com), and the ease of creating a Hackintosh these days is very much due to his efforts.
