LINDA by Buddy Clark with Ray Noble's Orchestra was recorded in November of 1946 on the Columbia Records label. Buddy Clark was born Samuel Goldberg on July 26, 1911 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Buddy rated with the best of the crooners and singers of the 1940's. He was right at the top with names like: Dick Haymes, Bob Eberly, Frank Sinatra, Art Lund, & Harry Babbitt. However, fate stepped in and cut short the bright future of thirty eight year old Buddy Clark, when on October 1, 1949, the plane that he and five of his friends were traveling in, ran out of fuel and crashed in Los Angeles, CA.

The Exorcist
Novelist William Peter Blatty based his best-seller on the last known Catholic-sanctioned exorcism in the United States. Blatty transformed the little boy in the 1949 incident into a little girl named Regan, played by 14-year-old Linda Blair. Suddenly prone to fits and bizarre behavior, Regan proves quite a handful for her actress-mother, Chris MacNeil (played by Ellen Burstyn, although Blatty reportedly based the character on his next-door neighbor Shirley MacLaine). When Regan gets completely out of hand, Chris calls in young priest Father Karras (Jason Miller), who becomes convinced that the girl is possessed by the Devil and that they must call in an exorcist: namely, Father Merrin (Max von Sydow). His foe proves to be no run-of-the-mill demon, and both the priest and the girl suffer numerous horrors during their struggles. The Exorcist received a theatrical rerelease in 2000, in a special edition that added 11 minutes of footage trimmed from the film's original release and digitally enhanced Chris Newman's Oscar-winning sound work.

Javier Solís (September 1, 1931, Mexico City, Mexico[1] April 19, 1966, Mexico City, Mexico) was a popular Mexican singer of boleros and rancheras, and film actor of the middle 20th century. Born Gabriel Siria Levario, Javier Solis became known as one of the most recognized Mariachi solo artists in Mexico. Coming from humble beginnings, at a young age Solis had to drop out of school to help support his family. He trained as an amateur boxer for six years with aspirations of turning professional, but quit after his father urged him to choose a more "decent" career. The young man used to sing in local competitions for small prizes (such as a pair of new shoes), but was eventually banned from participating because he so dominated the competition. At age 16, Solis went to Puebla, Mexico to sing with Mariachi Metepec, but it wasn't until years later when Julito Rodriguez and Alfredo Gil of the trio Los Panchos heard him singing at a local bar that he got his first break as a recording artist. They took him to audition with CBS records where he signed a recording contract and cut his first album in 1950. His first hit, "Lloraras," came two years later and prompted his producer Felipe Valdes Leal to give him the name Javier Solis. The vocalist came to international acclaim in 1957, making appearances in the United States, Central, and South America. Solis was the first to sing songs in a style now known as "Boleros-Rancheras."
