Update 4! I was able to bought an Broadcom bcm94312 and changed my wifi card by pressing F10 + A when booting to load the advanced bios option. Then when i'm in BIOS, i had to change an option - Advanced - Extra Bus Reserved - to Enabled. And finally i could change my Wifi card. Part 1 - 4 of Intel 2500K Hackintosh using Kakewalk. Hello, Today I am going to be showing you a new Hackintosh I have been working on. This Hackintosh features a Intel Core i5 2500K, which is the newest of Sandy Bridge Core i5 processors. The new architecture is very, very fast! Along with that processor, I have 4GB of 1333MHz Ram and a Gigabyte motherboard. The reason I chose the Gigabyte motherboard is that it is compatible with Kakewalk. Kakewalk is a very cool boot-loader/post-installation utility which comes with pre-edited DSDT's and Kexts. The case and power supply is ones from an old Compaq computer I had running a AMD processor. As you will see in Part 2, I spray-painted the case to a glossy black and it made it look WAY better. I also spray-painted the power supply black. It made it feel like a new case. The HDD I'm using is a 2.5" WD Caviar Black from a broken MacBook Pro. It all works pretty good so far and the machine is very fast! Can't wait to get some SSD's and more ram! As far as graphics go, I'm using the Intel HD3000 which is built onto the die now in the newer Sandy Bridge processors. The Intel HD3000 was pretty hard to get full acceleration going and what not. Took many forums to figure that one out. I'm also having trouble with sound, but I think I'll figure it out soon. You must already have snow leopard on your hackintosh fully updated to 10.6.8 . If you do not know what a Hackintosh is. It is basically Mac os x 10.7 lion running on A windows pc or any computer not made by apple. Step 1: Purchase mac os 10.7 Lion from the Mac app store for $29.99 and let in download normally Step 2: Open it up and click continue, agree to the licence and Then click install on your current snow leopard disk, Don't worry it will not actually install it will just copy some files over. Reboot Step 3: Prepare the Installer Partition 1. Boot back into your existing Snow Leopard installation. 2. Open /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility 3. Highlight your Snow Leopard drive in left column. 4. Choose the Partition tab, and Click the + to Add a Partition. 5. Name the secondary partition Installer with a size of 8 GB and click Apply. 6. Part 2-4 Hello, Today I am going to be showing you a new Hackintosh I have been working on. This Hackintosh features a Intel Core i5 2500K, which is the newest of Sandy Bridge Core i5 processors. The new architecture is very, very fast! Along with that processor, I have 4GB of 1333MHz Ram and a Gigabyte motherboard. The reason I chose the Gigabyte motherboard is that it is compatible with Kakewalk. Kakewalk is a very cool boot-loader/post-installation utility which comes with pre-edited DSDT's and Kexts. The case and power supply is ones from an old Compaq computer I had running a AMD processor. As you see in Part 2, I spray-painted the case to a glossy black and it made it look WAY better. I also spray-painted the power supply black. It made it feel like a new case. The HDD I'm using is a 2.5" WD Caviar Black from a broken MacBook Pro. It all works pretty good so far and the machine is very fast! Can't wait to get some SSD's and more ram! As far as graphics go, I'm using the Intel HD3000 which is built onto the die now in the newer Sandy Bridge processors. The Intel HD3000 was pretty hard to get full acceleration going and what not. Took many forums to figure that one out. I'm also having trouble with sound, but I think I'll figure it out soon. I might just end up getting am external sound card and graphics card because the HD3000 currently doesn't support dual monitors on Mac OS X trough a Hackintosh.. :/ Stayed tune for part 3-4!
