Canadian Pacific in Southern Ontario is known for being home to consists of second generation EMD, foreign power and leasers. In 2008 when the economy dissolved much of CP's fleet of General Electric locomotives were assigned to trains in Western Canada. It isnt uncommon to see SD40-2s leading mainline trains amongst leasing units like CEFX, HLCX and NREX. In this video a variety of EMD are seen leading mainline trains including a CWR train, a manifest with a pair of SD40-2Fs, and an auto train with an ex BNSF leaser. Washago is a popular summer get-away town north of Barrie, Ontario. Often cottagers find leisure by swimming and fishing around the many lakes and rivers. However, more than often people end up around Canadian Nationals railway line that runs through town, seeking the thrill of jumping off a bridge into the water below. What these people do not realize is that the line from which they are jumping is a busy mainline. In this video, a group of people are seen demonstrating pure stupidity as the train approaches. In the distance the horn of the train could be heard, prior to the trains arrival a few people stood on the Rama Road bridge. Within a few seconds the crossing gates activated, with this the engineer began to sound the horn. The first group of people jumped off the bridge, but then ( at 0:51 ) a teenager darts onto the bridge, putting his life at risk, with merely a foot or two from him and the train. Luckily he was not killed, however it was a very close miss. This video was filmed with yurysausage, thanks to him for information and allowing a stay at his cottage. "FPON" Foreign Power in Ontario, a scene that has become more prominent on the CP Rail in the last year. During the hot and sticky month of July 2011, various trains ran with FPON power, including CSXT, S&NC (SLRG) and HLCX (ex-Union Pacific). In this video you will see all the FPON action between July 11th and 13th. A notable train, was CP 240 with an EMD BL2 (1 of about 50 remaining) destined to the Saratoga and North Creek railroad in Saratoga Springs, New York.
