CSX 419 & 411 with loaded coal train V605 stalls coming off the Salsbury Branch just outside Meyersdale, PA. The engineer informs the dispatcher that they have no sand. Watch closely as these two brutt AC4400 actually lunge, and bounce up and down trying to get traction coming up the steep grade of the branch to the mainline. With the locomotives in #8 notch, the hood doors viberate, and you can here the wheels grinding in the sand. It may be a slow video, but you will see what it takes to get this train rolling. The crew in the helper engines never left the comfort of their warm cab in the 19 degree weather. The crew, and some railfans hand sand the rails, and V605 backs up to get a second run for it, and finally makes it out. The whole ordeal to well over an hour. There is now a second clip (PART II) of the progress of the train heading west before it heads east to Cumberland, MD. This is the longest freight train I have ever recorded near my home town. It has 7 locomotives and 123 cars. At the location where I was filming it started picking up speed and by the time the near end of the train was approaching me, it was doing about 70 MPH. The railroad ties are made of concrete and the wind started blowing by me so fast I had to hold down my tripod. One of my best railroad video's yet!!!!!!! It was filmed on February 1, 2012 in Zephyrhills Florida in Pasco County.

A Little History: The Little River Railroad celebrated the 100th birthday of their #110 steam engine train. This unique engine is the smallest standard gauge Pacific locomotive ever built. This one of a kind engine ordered special in 1911 for the Little River Railroad & Lumber Company out of Townsend, Tennessee. The custom locomotive was ordered to handle the tight corners needed to haul lumber out of what is now the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, retiring in 1938. In 1940 it was sold to the Smokey Mountain Railway and ran until the early 1950's. In 1966 the #110 was abandoned in Shook's Gap, Tennessee. In 1972 the #110 was purchased and restored and made its first run as the Little River Railroad in Pleasant Lake, Indiana in 1975. In the 100 years, she was only out of service for about 20 years. In 2004, the #110 and her current owner celebrated a milestone. The #110 has been with the current Little River Railroad for longer than either of the previous owners and has been in service the entire time. In the 35 years since being restored in 1975, 110 has hauled approximately 200000 passengers and traveled over 300000 miles in three states. In November 2011, the #110 celebrated her 100th birthday! In this video we will look at one of the best Enlighten locomotives, and that is the Frisco Fe Heavy Duty Passenger Locomotive set #629. This is the best quality Enlighten locomotive that I have seen so far, it is sturdy and the quality is as good as anything made by LEGO. This is one of the locomotives that I wish LEGO still made, and I hope that LEGO will see that if they won't make it, then someone else will. LEGO is not known for putting the wants and desires of the customer as a high priority, and if they don't change this attitude very soon, they will lose their title of leader of the brick world. Many people have asked me to show some of my LEGO and LEGO compatible trains. Two Ferromex engines came in on a Grain Train this week, and the railfan community went nuts trying to catch them. I was able to catch them running lite from the Willows to Ayer, and again pulling a string of grain hoppers out of the siding at Moore's in downtown Ayer. Video by TNT Productions

Interail locomotive 42206 is seen at the Dynon Freight yards (Melbourne) preparing to attach to container wagons delivered earlier in the morning by a QR National (QRN) freight train. Once attached the locomotive shunts the train forward to clear a point (turnout) and then backs the train into a siding so the shipping containers can be unloaded. Interail is part of QR National railways. The 422 Class were delivered to their original owners, the New South Wales Government Railways during 1969 & 1970 and. The locomotive has an EMD 16-645E engine and features a drivers cab on both ends of the locomotive, a feature that became common on NSW locomotives for the next 30 years.

In Canada the maximum number of locomotives that can lead a train is 8. In this video Canadian Pacific 255 is see heading northbound on the Hamilton Subdivision with a colorful 8 unit consist at Flamborough, Ontario. Amongst the consist is a variety of CP/SOO and leaser power. Sweating the assets, CP often uses leaser power and older EMD in Southern Ontario. The crew on this train also gave an extended horn salute as well as blowing for the crossing. Here's my remastered version of "My Tribute To the Railtown 1897 Locomotives". Sierra Railway #28 was completed in January 1922 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Eddystone Pennsylvania and was delivered new to the Sierra Railway. In 1925, some oil caught fire inside the cab, and destroyed all of the wood in it, IE the cab windows, etc. She was retired in 1955 when Sierra Railroad bought diesel locomotives from the Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton Corporation to replace steam power. She and mallet #38 double-headed with the Famous "Farewell to Steam" excursion on April 17th, 1955. She is now out of service due to a cracked crown sheet. Sierra Railway Shay #2 was built new in 1922 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima Ohio for the Hutchinson Lumber Company on the Feather River. She was resold several times before she was donated to and leased from the State of California for back-up excursion service by the Sierra Railroad in 1975. She was rebuilt over a period of two years. #2 was the primary excursion locomotive for the Railtown 1897 State Historic Park covering for #28, until recently. She is now out of service, pending repairs on the firebox flue sheet. Sierra Railway #3 "The Movie Queen" was completed by the Rogers Locomotive and Machine Woks on March 26th, 1891 for the Prescott and Arizona Central Railroad. She came to work for the Sierra Railway in June of 1897 running ahead of the first passenger train to Cooperstown. She was replaced as the main freight hauler by <b>...</b>

During the Fall of 1993 my dad (Arthur Davis) was able to record Amtrak's City of New Orleans with its brand new Genesis P40DC locomotives. These units were numbered between 800-843. The locomotives were first delivered to Amtrak between April-December 1993. At the time of this recording, the City of New Orleans still had heritage car equipment and still ran on Illinois Central's Grenada Sub. Some of the actual dates of recording I am unaware of, but in general, footage was recorded mostly in the Fall of 1993. All footage was of the the southbound train #59. QRNational "5000 class" locomotive 5007 leads another 5000 class locomotive through Maitland. The 5000 class were built for exclusive use in the NSW Hunter Valley coalfields and have proven to be very capable heavy haul locomotives. The locomotive is based on the C40ACI design, with the GE 7FDL-16 diesel engine delivering 4000Hp for tractive effort purposes. The 5000 class are now being joined by an updated version of the design known as the 5020 class. Filmed using a Sony PMW-EX3 high definition camera.
