La vie en rose - Louis Armstrong

LYRICS Hold me close and hold me fast The magic spell you cast This is la vie en rose When you kiss me heaven sighs And tho I close my eyes I see la vie en rose When you press me to your heart I'm in a world apart A world where roses bloom And when you speak...angels sing from above Everyday words seem...to turn into love songs Give your heart and soul to me And life will always be La vie en rose

Louis Armstrong-Go Down Moses

Go down, Moses, way down in Egypt land Tell old Pharaoh To let my people go. Now when Israel was in Egypt land (Let my people go) Oppressed so hard they could not stand (Let my people go) So the Lord said: Go down, Moses way down in Egypt land Tell old Pharaoh To let my people go. So Moses went to Egypt land (Let my people go) He made old Pharaoh understand (Let my people go) Yes the Lord said: Go down, Moses way down in Egypt land Tell old Pharaoh To let my people go. Thus spoke the Lord, bold Moses said, (Let my people go) If not I'll smite your firstborn dead (Let my people go) 'Cause the Lord said: Go down Moses Way down in Egypt land Tell old Pharaoh To let my people go Tell old Pharaoh to let my people go

"St. Louis Blues" (1933 version) - Louis Armstrong

"St. Louis Blues," recorded in Chicago April 26, 1933 for Victor Records. This is a re-release on the Bluebird label. "St. Louis Blues" was one of Louis' great showpieces, as you will hear in thisrecording. The record player is an Orthophonic Victrola model VE4-4X, or "Granada". The "E" in the model number indicates that the Victrola is fitted with a synchronous A/C motor instead of a wind-up motor. The machine has a full "orthophonic" playback system (for electrically-recorded records) including the special orthophonic sound box with a duralumin diaphragm and a folded exponential horn inside of the cabinet. Although the gigantic Credenza Victrola produced deeper bass, the Granada had the most accurate overall frequency response of all the acoustic Orthophonic Victrolas. The serial number indicates that this machine was probably manufactured in 1926. I shoot my video with a Sony Digital 8 format camera. For audio, I use a Shure SM-57 microphone on a stand placed about 4 feet in front of the Victrola horn. I use "soft tone" needles to keep from overloading the microphone. The mic is plugged directly into the video camera. The videos are edited with Windows Movie Maker. I use Sound Forge 9 to clean up the audio, but don't worry -- you're hearing the record exactly as the Victrola plays it! "When You Wish upon a Star" is a song written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for Walt Disney's 1940 adaptation of Pinocchio.
