Looks like Lulz Security and Anonymous have just declared war on governments and big banks. LulzSec released a statement, to announce that the two groups had joined forces and are launching what they call, "Operation Anti-Security". The US government is confirming through international efforts they were able to arrest a few members of a hacking group called Lulzsec that has caught Anonymous attention.

On Tuesday, four men in Britain and Ireland were charged with computer crimes; a fifth man was arrested Monday in Chicago. They were part of a group called "LulzSec" affiliated with Anonymous, which has taken credit for a number of cyber-raids against corporations, political parties and governments. In a shocking revelation, the hacktivists may have been turned in by none other than the group's own leader. Lulzsec's chief hacker was a 28-year-old now identified as Hector Xavier Monsegur, better known by his alias "Sabu." Apparently, Monsegur was caught last summer and -- according to the FBI -- has been working as an informant ever since. He allegedly directed fellow hackers from his public housing project in New York while turning around and feeding federal investigators enough incriminating evidence to build a case against his cyber-comrades. According to The Guardian, Monsegur may have also provided an FBI-owned computer to facilitate the release of five million emails taken from the private intelligence firm Stratfor and which are now being published by WikiLeaks. This suggests the FBI has insight into the internal discussions between Julian Assange of WikiLeaks, and the hacking group Anonymous. Sabu, the notorious hacker who's said to have been the head of Anonymous offshoot LulzSec, was outed as an informant for the FBI this week. The New York-based hacker reportedly helped law enforcement identify and ultimately take down other high-level members of both groups. After masterminding attacks against the CIA, FBI, Sony, and other corporate and government sites, he pled guilty to more than 10 charges related to his hacking. Looking at a lengthy jail sentence, the Feds apparently convinced him to turn informant by using his kids. A law enforcement official involved in flipping Sabu told Fox News, "It was because of his kids. He didn't want to go away to prison and leave them. That's how we got him." But the hacking hydra that is Anonymous hasn't stood idly by. In retaliation, the group has already hacked the website of Spanish security firm Panda Labs.

Scotland Yard has announced they captured the spokesman for the hacking group LulzSec. According to the Associated Press, a 19 year old who goes by the nickname "Topiary" was arrested in Scotland's Shetland Islands. Topiary was the spokesperson for Anonymous and eventually moved on to represent the offshoot organization, LulzSec and has been featured on this program in the past.

In a shocking revelation, the hacktivists may have been turned in by none other than the group's own leader. Lulzsec's chief hacker was a 28-year-old now identified as Hector Xavier Monsegur, better known by his alias "Sabu." Apparently, Monsegur was caught last summer and -- according to the FBI -- has been working as an informant ever since. He allegedly directed fellow hackers from his public housing project in New York while turning around and feeding federal investigators enough incriminating evidence to build a case against his cyber-comrades. According to The Guardian, Monsegur may have also provided an FBI-owned computer to facilitate the release of five million emails taken from the private intelligence firm Stratfor and which are now being published by WikiLeaks. This suggests the FBI has insight into the internal discussions between Julian Assange of WikiLeaks, and the hacking group <b>...</b>

News International has got a taste of its own medicine, after one of its most-popular newspapers was hacked. A fake story appeared on The Sun's website which falsely claimed Rupert Murdoch had died, before directing readers to the hackers' Twitter page. It was posted by a group called LulzSec, which previously attacked the Fox News and CIA homepages. An allied group called Anonymous has also been active, saying it brought down The Times website, which is another Murdoch publication. As the claims swirl from the gutter press to the top of the establishment, there's concern the police bribery allegations could cloud the investigation.
