On Friday, October 14, Occupy San Diego protesters formed a human chain to protect their site from the police in the San Diego Civic Center. The police brutally attacked the protesters, twisted one protester's arm, threw at least two people to the ground, and maced several people. One person who was maced had to go to the hospital.

At the Union High School football game in Roosevelt Utah. These polynesian boys had traveled to Roosevelt to support family members that were playing on the team. after a game well played but our team still lost. these family members got together and decided to perform the haka for the team to boost their morale and show them we support them. So the boys waited for everyone to get off the field and all that were left on the field was our team and the opposing team that was on the other side of the field in their team huddle. so as our team was walking up the fans started performing the haka..... everyone was enjoying it and watching. as soon as the police officer said to make a hole parents, players and coaches were telling the police officers that it was okay to let them finish. but as the video shows the police didn't care and still pulled out mace and batons and used it on the boys. children, elderly, and others were sprayed. this was a huge overreaction by the police and physical force was not needed since these boys/men were not threatening ANYONE!!

The FBI is opening up a probe into an alleged police brutality cover-up in Tennessee. Darren Ring suffered four cracked ribs and a punctured lung after Tennessee police stripped him naked, beat him in the snow and used pepper spray and a Taser on him. Ring spent five months behind bars after the event. Now his court-appointed defense attorney has obtained 22 minutes of raw footage taken from a police car that night. Once the footage surfaced, charges were dropped against Ring. His attorney, however, says that the Tennessee police filed false charges against his client in order to cover up their own actions.

During the ongoing "Occupy Wall Street" protest a group of women, who were peacefully protesting inside an area cordoned off by the New York Police Department, were pepper sprayed by an NYPD officer. Not only was the unprovoked incident caught on video, but several high quality images of this cop were taken, revealing his identity as Deputy Inspector Anthony V. Bologna. If you're as disgusted as I am by officer Bologna's behavior - and the fact that this coward is in a position of power, supervising a significant number of other officers - put pressure on Mayor Bloomberg and the NYPD police commissioner to not only fire him, but investigate him for assault. Let's send a firm message that not only do we stand with our brothers and sisters in the streets of New York City demanding justice for Wall Street, but we will use every advantage to support and defend their right to peacefully demonstrate without fear of retribution from the police who are there to keep the peace, not break it. Reporter Dick Brennan and photographer Roy Isen got caught in the middle of an altercation between police officers and a group of protesters, at the end of a day spent covering the ongoing demonstrations in lower Manhattan. Brennan was struck in the stomach with a baton and Isen was hit in the eyes with pepper spray. Many are asking, in light of these videos and videos from last week showing white shirted officers as primary aggressors, why are the high ranking officers appearing more aggressive than the rank and file officers? Generally speaking, departments that have problems disciplining their officers for excessive force still have to do something to get cops that show a pattern of brutality off the street or else they risk more civil litigation or a pattern/practice investigation by the feds. So, instead of firing cops, they promote them off of the street to supervisory roles... which could be one explanation for the white shirts being more aggressive here. If you don't believe that explanation consider the next report... The FBI has launched a criminal probe into a January incident where Tennessee police stripped a man naked, then kicked and beat him while he lay handcuffed in the snow. The incident, recorded by a patrol car's dashboard camera, also reveals police repeatedly shocking the man, Darrin T. Ring, of New Johnsonville, Tenn., with a Taser and spraying him with pepper spray. For nearly ten minutes, the video shows Ring writhing and screaming in pain as a gaggle of officers shout contradictory demands at him. "If he even flinches, shoot his ass," one officer declares on the tape. "Roll over on your belly!" another officer then yells. Ring, 34, intoxicated but unarmed at the time, was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. Police had been responding to a report of gunshots in the area. Ring's injuries from the assault included four broken ribs and a punctured lung. Unable to make bail, Ring sat in jail for five months awaiting trial on the charges. Then in early July, his court-appointed defense attorney obtained the recording of his arrest and filed a motion requesting that the charges be dropped in light of the outrageous conduct of the officers.
