worldofwarcraft.tgn.tv — Arcane Mage DPS rundown (episode 19 of 22) in World of Warcraft Cataclysm! We look at the spec and rotation for an Arcane Mage, and analyze the testing results via Recount. All testing is done against a raid boss dummy with no buffs besides basic class abilities. Gear is level 333 premade junk. Arcane is an overly simplistic and, frankly, boring rotation that involves stacking Arcane Blast 2-3 times and then hitting Arcane Missiles to clear it (or Barrage if AM doesn't proc in that time). You will also want to rotate armors, starting with Molten Armor and 3 stacks of Blast, then switching to Mage Armor and 2 stacks once you get low. Once Evocation comes off of cooldown, switch back to Molten and 3 stacks. Once your gear gets good enough, you might be able to stay on 3 stacks/Molten full time. worldofwarcraft.tgn.tv — Frost Mage DPS rundown (episode 17 of 22) in World of Warcraft Cataclysm! We look at the spec and rotation for a Frost Mage, and analyze the testing results via Recount. All testing is done against a raid boss dummy with no buffs besides basic class abilities. Gear is level 333 premade junk. Frost is a lot of fun. It is based around Frostbolt as your main nuke, with fast reactions to the constant procs of Brain Freeze and Fingers of Frost. It feels like a dynamic dps cycle, despite only using a handful of keybinds. Really, the whole design should be held up as a great example of how to make a character. In order to calculate Deep Freeze, which does not do damage to dummies, I included some heroic footage and recount data. I figure that Deep Freeze does 15% of your personal dps, so I factored that in for a rough estimate of the "real" dummy data. Also, I was not using the new Glyph of Deep Freeze in the heroic footage, so I figured that the 20% from that glyph canceled out the 20% of my damage that came from the water elemental, so I simply took the dummy test results (6600) divided by .85 to get the "final estimate" of 7700. Feel free to criticize that, but the point is: it does great damage, and the heroic numbers with purple gear and a rampage buff supports that conclusion. All testing is done against a raid boss dummy with no buffs besides basic class abilities. Gear is level 333 premade junk. Fire is a very, very simple rotation. Spam your primary nuke while reacting to the rare Hot Streak proc and manage about three cooldowns. I've tested both Frostfire Bolt and Fireball, each with their respective glyph, and found that Frostfire Bolt currently does more DPS. There is also an RNG factor to consider, so the gulf may not be as large as the data shows (due to mana pool problems with Fire, the sample size is only a bit over 1M damage, instead of 2-3M as I prefer to do). You will need to obtain 4 ingredients: Dragons tounge: Found outside Fort Redwater Deadra heart: Bought in Alchemy stores after level 12, or found in Oblivion Gates in Dremora Vampire dusts: Found in Vampires that are dead (mostly found in forts such as Fort Redwater) Redwort Flowers: Found at the Marsh-Punk Website Locations: Fort Redwater- East of Bravil, right on the Panther River, above the "i" and "v" in River. Marsh-Punk Campsite- South-East of Bravil right on the "a" of Panther. Offence levels: 1st offence: For theft: 20 Dragon Tounges and 20 Redwort Flowers. For Murder: 20 Vampire Dusts and 20 Deadra Hearts. 2nd offence: Same as first 3rd offence: You are permanently banned from the Mages Guild (Unless you are the Arch Mage, the Arch Mage will never be permanently banned) REMEMBER! - After you duplicate the items remember to keep at least one of each ingredient in case you get kicked out of the Mages Guild again you have them in a safe place so you don't have to search for them again.
