Its over 30 years since this film was released - never seen on DVD - and only to be bought on a now deleted VHS, it would be nice to have it out on DVD now - also the music release from this film has never been released since the 1970s vynil too! (although the stage show with Angela Landsbury is now on CD) Its not a bad musical really, it just was released a year or two too late to ride on the back of things like Hello Dolly and such! (Very 1960s musical style is the film) but worth a watch! Anyway to show how good it is, here is We Need A Little Christmas, performed by Lucy. It will be of interest to Crossroads fans as I know this was featured in the soap sung by Noele Gordon in 1979.

Please note that this was well before any portion of the film had been seen by the critics or the public. Even Lucy, herself, had not yet seen any finished takes from the film. Besides Lucille Ball, MAME also featured Bea Arthur, Robert Preston, Bruce Davison and Kirby Furlong and Jane Connell. I think Lucy was much more comfortable doing the kind of "singing" she did as Lucy Ricardo on I LOVE LUCY. :)
