'Glen, Gary and Ross' - a film about land grabs
www.oxfam.org.uk From Uganda to Honduras and South Sudan, irresponsible investors are acquiring land that's classed as 'unused' or 'underdeveloped', but which is actually being used by small-scale farmers to grow food or support their community in some way. Farming communities are often violently evicted and left without the land they relied on for their livelihoods. In recent months, Oxfam has been investigating how land grabs have pushed thousands of people into poverty. In the coming weeks, we'll be letting you know about our findings -- and how you can help put an end to this scandal by taking on the culprits. To start things off, we've produced this video -- based on Glengarry Glen Ross, the 1992 film where real-estate salesmen will do anything to make a profit. A bumbling cop and a smooth-talking criminal join forces to fight crime! It's "48 Hours" for the Ipod generation. Mark Carter is a mild-mannered detective stuck amongst the roughest, toughest cops in the Met. When theyre wiped out in a fireball, Mark is ordered by Cockney cliché DCI Dare to learn how to walk the mean streets, instead of fleeing them. Helping Mark is ace conman and guest of Her Majesty, Sam McQueen. Spying a get-out-of-jail-free card when he comes across vital information on Cupid, hes assigned to Marks custody 24/7. Mark and Sam make an unlikely duo, and their different styles of cracking the case quickly rub each other up the wrong way. Matters are complicated further by Marks crush on custody sergeant Ellen. Shes used to dealing with drunks and addicts all day, not a lovesick puppy too frightened to make a move.

Thought it might be kinda ironic given that I'm shown here getting wasted on probably the very thing they're trying to advertise. But... the submission page wouldn't work properly so I couldn't upload this, and thus never had the opportunity to "audition".
