PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU LOOK STUPID: These are local snakeheads in my country, dirt cheap. We treat them as feeder fish for tropical fish. This was not an unfair fight, simply a fish owner feeding his fish live food. I don't have any feelings towards snakeheads, and I don't want to put in a larger one to see who wins. So please don't troll :D They cost Rs.200 for 50 in my city, which translates to around roughly 3$ for 50, which is much cheaper than feeder guppies, and much more high protein diet for my predators. The tank is 125gallons, and will be home to just two oscars once these guys get a little bigger. I am not overstocking. Its a grow out aquarium! I currently have: 2x Pleco 4x Oscar Tigers 1x alligator gar 2 RS Electrical Power Filters, one with concrete rings in canister along with mechanical sponge. Ph registers at 7.3-8. Water is soft and goes through weekly 30-40% changes

Sevenports is very excited about this new sponge filter. The focus behind this filter is biological. It's design is very simple yet sophisticated. The outer body is made of porous hardened ceramic -- this act as a permanent area harboring beneficial bacteria. The internal of the filter is filled with expanded ceramic media and the filter is than topped off with mechanical sponge. Like most sponge filters, Up Aqua's Underwater Ceramic Filter is powered by air. Air pump feeds the tubing which leads to the filter. As bubble traverse up the extension tube, it also forces water out which draws in water from the only available opening. The major benefit of this design over competitors is the sheer amount of bacteria it can hold during operation and after cleaning. Unlike plastic based sponge filters, the plastic allows far less bacteria to colonize as compared to the porous surface of ceramic. At every cleaning interval, much bacteria is lost due to rinsing and washing of the filters. The design of this Ceramic Sponge is to save as much bacteria as possible. The only part that needs rinsing would be the sponge filter. Ceramics can be rinsed in aquarium water as it does not accumulate much debris. Unlike regular sponge filters where you have to squeeze out the sponge at every cleaning -- which is turns mean you are successfully squeezing out a lot of beneficial bacteria. Also once regular sponge filters start to clog up, the whole filter stops working. Bacteria will start to die <b>...</b>
