NGD, Chapman Guitars ML-2! 2 piece oiled mahogany body . Maple neck, set. Very thin satin finish. Ebony fingerboard. 12th fret infinity inlay, 24 frets. Thru-body stringing. Screaming pickups. Grover tuners. Funky cutaway contouring. After a string change and a setup to suit me, this guitar plays badass! Still getting used to it a little as i've been on a Telecaster mission recently! This is one of the easiest guitars i have to play in terms of string tension seeming to be quite loose under the fingers! I thought maybe it had 8-38 on it when it came, and expected 9-46 to put up more of a fight, but nope! It's just that easy under the fingers. I could definitely go to 10's in standard tuning. (usually i play 10's flat tuned) The pickups are hot too! Plenty of clarity on the bridge pickup even with laods of gain, and the neck position doesn't really get muddy like i know Les Paul style guitars can! The trade off is maybe that the neck pup doesn't sound as plump as a Gibson Les Paul (as a reference). But it's just different, not a negative :) in fact i'm quite pleased to not have the mud that my Les Pauls have! Recorded through my Rockerverb 50 and PPC 112, trusty ol Shure PG57 and Focusrite Saffire Pro! Recorded in Reaper, edited in Vegas Movie Studio HD 11. As for the playing, just a bad day! :p
