Castleblayney known as the Nashville of Ireland and for very good reason, Top Rank Entertainment managed many of Ireland's greats from its headquaters in the town. Castleblayney is steeped in a strong tradition of music, with people like Big Tom, Paddy Cole and Anna Mc Goldrick. Having enjoyed acclaim over the years. Similarily Castleblayney amassed a wealth of Showbands who enjoyed success on the various circuits both here in Ireland and abroad. These bands included the Maurice Lynch Showband, Paddy Cole All Stars, The Regal Showband, Everglades, Travellers, The Mainliners, The Outlaws, Emmet Celi Band , Gerry Black and the Seasons Ginger Morgan Band and the Mc Guigan Accordian Band. Featured Artist: In May 1974,in what was then one of the all time shocking events in Irish show business history, Big Tom left the Mainliners and formed a new group, The Travellers under the new managment of Top Rank Entertainment in Castleblayney. To the dismay of their loyal fans, the Mainliners and Tom went their separate ways, until Tom and band reunited in 2004 for a short tour, enjoying the same success they did thirty years earlier. The Travellers re-defined the "Country & Irish" sound with young - modern thinking musicians that drew their influences from many different styles from various american country music artists to the late great Rory Gallagher.
