Filmed on Saturday night this is was the Moon Rockets last visit to Lincoln under its currently ownership it least. The ride is the last remaning operating example (although there is one in store at Dingles and also one in the States) and is the only one with swinging cars. The ride offers a fast smooth ride with fantastic lighting with old style bulbs and a counter rotating centre to increase the illusion of speed. The ride was being filmed for a possible future dvd based on vintage rides. We hope to film as many atmospheric rides as possible and its going to be a challange to find them at busy places with a good electric atmosphere but myself and Niall will do our best to track down the best vintage rides at their best places.

Jim Waldon was my teacher at St. Mary's Catholic School in Aurora, Indiana in the early 1980s. He was also the organist in the church. He once played us this song on the organ in the neighboring church. I asked if he could make a recording for me. He did, and I've had it on cassette tape all these years. "Moon Rocket" was written for the piano, but the way Mr. Waldon plays it on the pipe organ makes it sound like carousel music. It invokes images of merry go rounds, carnivals, and amusement parks, and I thought others who enjoyed organ music and carousels would enjoy this. Mr. Waldon gave me his blessing to upload the video and hopes that others will like it, too. After three decades, Mr. Waldon still teaches at St. Mary's and plays organ in the church. He was the most influential teacher I ever had.
