Kingston Trio - MTA (Original Stereo)
"MTA" was composed in 1948 by Jacqueline Steiner and Bess Lomax Hawes and was originally known as "Charlie On The MTA". The song recounts the story of a man named Charlie who gets trapped on the Boston subway system known then as the MTA (Massachusetts Transit Authority). The tune fit the Kingston Trio's style perfectly and they took it all the way to #13 in June of 1959. Today the MTA is known as the MBTA and its electronic-card fare system is known as the "CharlieCard" in tribute to this recording.

MTA Bus Exclusive! On-Board MCI D4500CT 2248 On The BM2 Part Three **Special Appearance Made By Yukon's MCI D4500CT 2221 On The X15!** My longest video ever recorded! The newest coach fleet to be in service.....FINALLY! These MCIs were in Eastchester Depot for about 4-5 months now and they are finally in their respective depots. They were not in service before because of an EPA Violation, so these buses had to be slightly modified. Some of these are in Yukon Depot while others are being shipped out to Spring Creek and possibly College Point. On June 9th, 2009, 5 of these were in service, 2246 to 2251 under MTA Bus running from Spring Creek Depot. Yukon Depot had CTs up to 2223 into service. More videos will be posted soon as I will be looking long and hard for these!

MTA Budget Crisis: NYC Transit and MTA Bus cuts
In a city so dependent on public transportation, it is almost incomprehensible to cut service on the MTA system. But most of these cuts will happen, because no one is offering any help or alternative ideas. These cuts will strand overnight riders of bus routes, and will lead to dangerously overcrowded subways on weekends and middays. They plan on cutting service on the 7!! One of the busiest lines! The MTA wants to balance the budget on our backs, instead of cutting their executive board salaries, or raising bridge tolls. I knew this would happen without Congestion Pricing, and you can thank one man for that, by the name of Sheldon Silver, a true enemy of the people!
