Little is known about Mystique's past due to the fact that she can eliminate the outward signs of aging with her shape-changing power, and it's not known exactly how old she is. She apparently learned to use her shape-changing power at a very early age, for there is no evidence known to the public or the government that Raven Darkholme ever looked like anything but a normal human being. Years ago Mystique had an affair with Victor Creed and they had a son, Graydon Creed, the recently-assassinated presidential candidate and hater of mutants. Mystique has also claimed to be the mother of Nightcrawler. At some point in recent years Mystique became the protector of the young mutant named Rogue, and looked upon Rogue as if she where her own daughter. While Rogue was under her care, she maintained the false identity of Mallory Brickman, the wife of US Senator Ralph Brickman and her adopted daughter, Gloria, was a result. Mystique had concealed her superhuman powers and criminal intentions so well over the years that, as Raven Darkholme, she was able to rise rapidly through the United States Civil Service to the trusted position of Deputy Director of the Defense Advanced Research Planning Agency (DARPA) in the United States Department of Defense, giving her access to military secrets and advanced weaponry, both of which she used for her own criminal and subversive purposes. Cirque Mystique- A Non/Disney Roleplay (Open) All Types Of Animation Allowed!
Okay, this the first roleplay I've hosted, so bear with me. I know my copy of the Princess and the Frog is crap. I'll get a new one soon. XD Alright, so the story is this: The Cirque Mystique is a traveling circus/magic show. It has the usual stuff: tight rope walkers, magicians, clowns, etc. But there's one big thing that sets them apart from all the rest: Everything that happens on stage is real. A guy turns into a bear? It's real. A dancer dissapears into thin air? It's real. A guy breaths out fire? It's real. Of course, the audience doesn't know this. They just think it's special effects. Dr. Facilier is in charge of the whole thing. He finds people with talent/special powers and puts them in his show. Once you're in, you're basically in for life. So, what's your character? You have a bunch of possibilites ahead of you. I like to think of the performers as going into three groups: 1. Supernaturals- These are people that aren't human. They're mystical/mythical sort of creatures. Examples can be nymphs, shapeshifters, and zombies. 2. Gifted Humans- These are people that are basically human, but have special abilities. Examples can be mind readers, illusionists, and witches. 3. Normal Humans- These are every day people, same as you and me. Their only talent is normal things: being a good dancer, being funny, or being flexible. Dr. Facilier thinks it's good to have a few ordinary people in the circus so the show has some sort of normalcy about it. After all, he doesn't <b>...</b>
Richard Elliot - Mystique
Mystique (Feat. Peter White). Tenor saxophonist Richard Elliot was a member of the legendary horn line in Tower of Power, so it's no surprise that "funky" and soulful grooves empower his fourteenth solo release, on his own label this time along with Rick Braun (his partner in the company). Metro Blue (2005) has a nicely varied, mix of 10 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly outstanding artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are his own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard. From the cascading lines in the opening "Inside Out" to the ethereal balladry of the closing title track, Elliot's playing ties the set together with undeniable personality. Urban and nocturnal in character, the songs are infused with a sense of the organic, through those warm and human sax lines.
