''TF 37, W 36, KO 31, L 1 , D 0'' (born 12 February 1974) Naz is a British-Yemeni boxer and former World Featherweight and European Bantamweight Champion.Hamed was known for his boxing antics and spectacular ring entrances that have included being deposited in the middle of the ring by an elevator, which was set up specially for the event near the roof of the Manchester Evening News Arena, entering the ring in a low-rider Chevrolet Impala, entering on a flying carpet, re-enacting the video of Michael Jackson's Thriller, being carried into the ring on a palanquin, walking into the ring on a fashion runway style walk way and walking into the ring with a Halloween mask for his fight with Wayne McCullough (fought on Halloween night of 1998). He was also known for his front somersault over the top rope into the ring, which he did for all his professional fights. Hamed is also known for his unorthodox behaviour outside the ring. He had an altercation at Heathrow Airport with former boxing world champion Chris Eubank, showing off his belts and reminding Eubank that he was no longer a champion. He was managed by Barry Hearn then Frank Warren and finally by his eldest brother Riath Hamed. Connecticut, United States KO 4 Hamed following opponent a hard puncher Augie Sanchez. Sanchez proves his power when he sends Hamed down to the canvas in the 2nd round and one min. later he almost knocks down Naseem again by a big left hook.Naseem recovers immediately and he answers right away by a strong left. After 10sec. of beginning Round three Sanchez successfully lands 2 big punches and the Prince almost goes down again. Ignored the fact the Prince completely loses his illusive style he carries on the bout which turns into a punch-war and Hamed proves how well he deals with the pressure. At the end of the 3rd round Hamed's quicker and stronger jabs break Sanchez. Round four Hamed executes Sanchez by an impressive punch-combination (4 pure punches land on Augie one after the other) which was the most brutal KO that he ever did. The Prince made the 15th defence of his WBO belt. Augie Sanchez left the ring in a stretcher. Naseem Begum (1936-1971) was a popular, and well known Pakistani playback singer. She rose to prominence towards the end of the fifties, and by 1964 had managed to win the prestigious Nigar award on five separate occasions. Despite originally being billed as a 'second Noor Jehan', Naseem quickly managed to carve out her own successful niche in the music industry. Naseem Begum was born in the city of Amritsar, British India, in 1936. She acquired her musical training from the classical singer Mukhtar Begum, the elder sister of the renowned ghazal vocalist Farida Khanum. The composer Sheriyar was greatly impressed by her vocal range, and gave her the opportunity to perform in his film Begunah. Naseem immediately tasted success with her song 'Nainon Mein Jal Bhar Aayey', which became one of the most popular tracks of the fifties. She gained popularity after singing memorable duets with famous playback singer Ahmed Rushdi. She died in 1971 due to pregnancy related complications.

The one and only Prince Naseem Hamed. Everyone has an opinion on the Prince - you either love him or hate him! Whatever side you fall into you cannot deny that the Prince was not only the undisputed Feather King for 5 years, cleaning up the division and winning every major title (the first man ever to win the IBF, IBO, WBC and WBO world titles at feather) but he was also one of the biggest personalities to ever jump into a ring! Boxing record: 37 Fights 36 Wins (31 KOs) 1 Loss 0 Draws One of the few credible critisisms of Naz is that following his one and only 12 round decision loss to fellow legend Barrera, the Prince didnt demand a rematch and at least attempt to avenge the loss. Bare in mind that he was a multi millionaire and one of the biggest earning fighters in his early 20's and recieved an incredible amount of media attention - in his prime he was an incredible blend of skill, charisma, power, speed, footwork, arrogance and confidence. This led to explosive fights like Ring Magazines fight of the year for 1997 against the former 2 time WBC Featherweight world champion, Kevin Kelly. However after years at the top of the world and still in the full glare of the media limelight, Naz was clearly not in love with the sport anymore. This is perhaps the closest we will get to an explanation as to why he retired so young. Even though he goes down in history theres definately a feeling that he could have been much more.

Barerra was comming off his disputed loss in the first fight in the trilogy against Erik Morales, Hahmed last fought Augie Sanchez at Foxwoods 6 months previously. Going in 'Prince' Naseem refused to accept that Barerra was the best fighter he had been up against and said they would be going for the KO. For his part in the build up, Barerra had said that he had no particular fear of Hahmeds power and that he would be on the attack. What followed was quite simply a superb performance from the Mexican, picking his spots beautifuly against the unorthadox Prince.
