Disney Attractions at the 1964 New York World's Fair

Sometime during the World's Fair in New York during 1964-65 my grandfather shot some 8mm home movies. As I have begun digitizing my family's movies from before my time, I came across these scenes where you can see the sign for "it's a small world" as well as the sculpture that stood in front of it; Mickey Mouse waiving to the crowd from atop "it's a small world"; the Disney-designed Ford pavilion and a very brief ride aboard one of the cars. I can identify the non-Disney designed Johnson Wax pavilion too (mostly because a couple of years ago I visited the part of it that was relocated to Wisconsin after the Fair - see travel.asdhollywood.com I'm not sure (so someone will comment and I will revise), but you may also be able to see the Disney-designed Carousel of Progress building. I've seen other pictures of the State of Illinois pavilion which included Disney's first version of the animatronic Lincoln and I did not spot that pavilion in the film. I've posted many other personal videos of Disney parks (covering 1972-2011) to my YouTube Channel asdTubeU, as well as some of this year's bad Chicago weather and other travel destinations. Lots of travel photos are on my website asdhollywood.com. Music Gaslamp Funworks, Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons "Attribution 3.0" creativecommons.org

Citysights NY - Empire State Building- New York City Attractions

New York's famous Empire State Building, a New York City and a National Historic Landmark, soars more than a quarter of a mile into the atmosphere above the heart of Manhattan. Located on the 86 th floor, 1050 feet (320 meters) above the city's bustling streets, the Observatory offers panoramic views from within a glass enclosed pavilion and from the surrounding open-air promenade. The high point of every visit to the Observatory is, of course, the spectacular 360-degree view of the Big Apple and the metropolitan area.

What is the NY skyride? It's an audio-visual, aerial tour of New York City experienced through specially-equipped, motion-simulated, seats and large screen. It's a 3-dimensional virtual experience that you won't soon forget. With actor Kevin Bacon narrating, you'll also get an educational and historical overview of the big apple. You'll glide my the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Yankee Stadium and many other famous New York City attractions. You'll be seated on a specially-designed platform that will make you feel like you are actually in motion--wait until you get to the roller coaster scence!I definitely recommend it. Everyone will love it. It's my niece's favorite place to go! I loved it.

Disneyland Goes to the New York World's Fair (Part 1)

Part 1 - Ford Magic Skyway During the 1960's, Walt Disney was working very hard to create new attractions at Disneyland that would feature Audio Animatronics. Meanwhile, he heard that a World's Fair was being planned and he wanted to use this as an oppurtunity to test these new robotic figures. He got the sponsors of four big companies: Ford, General Electric, State of Illinois and Pepsi Cola. Here he created some of the most importatn attractions ever created for a theme park. He created The Magic Skyway (Ford), The Carrousel of Progress (General Electric), Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln (State of Illinois), and It's a Small World (Pepsi). Now, through this time machine, we will see these old attractions in their original state and see how truly sacared they are to the development to Disneyland.
