Nightingale - Nightfall Overture

Band:Nightingale Song:Nightfall Overture Album:Nightfall Overture Just another midnight hour Enjoying the cold of a dark winter night I see the darkness devour Everything that once was light And the stars in the sky Are so lifeless and so grey Walking in the light of the moon When the night repairs the day From the trees comes a mourful tune I am not alone I can hear them say The moon is your guide There is no place you can hide Oh, when the night comes down And all the colours turns black and white Oh, when the night comes down And the dark is conducting the nightfall overture Who am I in the eyes of the world What have I done that will remain Who am I? Will I ever know? But right now I am the king of this winterlane Is there anybody out there? In the middle of the mist in the field The air doesn't relieve me anymore Something is here that I have never felt before ...And it's closing in on me... I am lost in the maze of the night Surrounded by lights so dark I am losing all track of time I'm trying to come out of this endless park And the air is so dry I can hear the daylight cry ...Is there anybody out there???... ( Swano ) I see the day is coming The night is led astray The dawn of new desires The end of yesterday I walk the road to nowhere Ah, that's what I call home If I only knew what I was heading for, But I don't have a place to roam And then I heard the voices calling Across the sky in flames I could hear them clearer now Once again I could hear them say: Dream ...

Nightingale - Losing Myself (Edge of Sanity Cover)

Remake of the Edge of Sanity song, "Losing Myself," done by Nightingale. Music: Dan Swano Lyrics: Jonas Renkse Dan Swano: Lead Vocals, All Guitars, Bass Benny Larsson: Drums Losing time counting hours I'll never see myself again And even though I'm alone I can't remember what I'm missing So I leave it be I'm Closing down I expect the hopelessness and everything And even though I'm alone I can't remember what I'm missing and it's all I need I am lost I feel I am sinking now like I was made of rain Like a wave I roll into the endless night I'm not afraid as the darkness starts to make its way I breathe as hard as you as I end my day I sigh in silence as I try to sink that deep as deep as you and make sure that I won't fall asleep Losing days I need no hours I'll never be myself again And even though it's killing me I can't remember what I'm missing So I leave it be

Saves the day Nightingale with lyrics

Nightingale - And I will flail under these lights, that seep down from the bitter sky tonight and I will kick and beat my wrists together and feel an ocean breathing waves, feel them licking at my face. Ceilings don't exist and there are no floors beneath me. If I were king of this night, would you become my queen? And I hope, your majesty that you like your position. I'll do everything I can to keep you by my side and I'll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom. Just kiss me before I go. I'll have to walk a thousand miles just to find the ground deserving of your feet. You could throw me down and walk on me and I'd just look on through my love and through the haze. And I hope, your majesty that you like your position. I'll do everything I can to keep you by my side and I'll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom. Just kiss me before I go. The nightingales are singing now. They're calling out our marriage to our subjects on their knees. Their jewelery is thrown into the air. They sigh at their release as their shackles hit the ground. The trumpets call out now, we're home at last. And I hope, your majesty that you like your position. I'll do everything I can to keep you by my side and I'll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom. Just kiss me before I go.

Eagles - Nightingale

From the 1972 Album "Eagles" I'm hanging on to my peace of mind I just don't know I'm hanging on to those good times, baby Just want to let them roll I'm gonna make it to the light and joy I'll tell you why I got a woman who can take me there the apple of my eye oh, I just don't know, no no, no, no I love her so Don't let me see that morning paper cause I don't need those dues it's just the same old murder movie but they call it the news I'll tell you what would be some story and what would set me free Is if the same thing happened to everybody that just happened to me, oh, I just don't know, no, no, no, no I'll never let her go Every time I hear somebody sneakin' up behind whoa, I turn around but I still hear that sound and just when I'm about to lose my mind Here comes my baby singing like a nightingale Coming my way down along that devastation trail well tell the Lord above she's got a brand of love that cannot fail I'm hanging on to my peace of mind that's no lie I'm hanging on to my special friend the apple of my eye my inspiration, too she's got a lead on my heart and my soul and she knows just what to do oh, I just don't know, no ,no, no, no No, I get so low, and my mind's about to go but wait a minute, here comes my baby singing like a nightingale coming my way down along that devastation trail Well, let the fires burn, let the floods return we will prevail Hanging on to my peace of mind I just don't know

(Rare!) Voice of Florence Nightingale (1890)

Another rare, Historical voice recording. Florence Nightingale(1820.5.12 - 1910.8.13), known as "The Lady with the Lamp" and a pioneering nurse, writer, and noted statistician, recorded some words on Edison Parafine Wax Cylinder, on July 30th, 1890. This is a 1933 Dubbing from the original cylinder, made by Edison-Bell Company from England, released as "19th Century Celebrities Series No.1". I don't know if there is someone who has some of this "Celebrities Series". Since the dubbing was made at the wrong speed (the cylinder was played too fast), I played the record on 74rpm, to correct the speed. A real historical recording - this is the oldest recording (considering when the recording was made) I have in my collection.

I think Nightingale, from the album Dear Heather by Leonard Cohen, Anjani and Sharon Robinson, is hauntingly beautiful. I have used Pre-Raphaelite paintings by Millais, Rossetti and Burne-Jones (which I also find very beautiful) to accompany it. I hope you enjoy it.

After all these years I`m sailing lonely I guess that all my towers Lost control Yesterday you were The one and only Today I`m going under In this hole *Diving* I`m diving *Diving down* *Coming* I`m coming *Coming undone* On the run On the wings through the night Of a nightingale I`ve been all alone On a long distance flight Why do lovers fail Lovers have to fail... Another ship wrack Captain leaving airways Another lonely burn in butterfly The sun is much to close My dreams are broken The mission blame It`s time to say goodbye *Diving* I`m diving *diving down* *Coming* I`m coming *coming undone* On the run On the wings through the night Of a nightingale I`ve been all alone On a long distance flight Why do lovers fail Lovers have to fail... Nightingale singing

It was recorded in the outscirts of Prizren, Kosova. Latin name Luscinia megarhynchos Family Chats and thrushes (Turdidae) Overview Nightingales are slightly larger than robins, with a robust, broad-tailed, rather plain brown appearance. They are skulking and extremely local in their distribution in the UK while in much of southern Europe, they are common and more easily seen. The famous song is indeed of high quality, with a fast succession of high, low and rich notes that few other species can match. Where to see them A secretive bird which likes nothing better than hiding in the middle of an impenetrable bush or thicket. In the UK they breed mostly south of the Severn-Wash line and east from Dorset to Kent. The highest densities are found in the south east: Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Kent and Sussex. When to see them They arrive in April and sing until late May and early June. They leave again from July to September. They can be heard singing throughout the day, as well as at night. O, for a draught of vintage! that hath been Cool'd a long age in the deep-delved earth, Tasting of Flora and the country green, Dance, and Provençal song, and sunburnt mirth! O for a beaker full of the warm South, Full of the true, the blushful Hippocrene, With beaded bubbles winking at the brim, And purple-stained mouth; That I might drink, and leave the world unseen, And with thee fade away into the forest dim: Fade far away, dissolve, and quite forget What thou among the leaves hast never known, The weariness, the fever, and the fret Here, where men sit and hear each other groan; Where palsy shakes a few, sad, last gray hairs, Where youth grows pale, and spectre-thin, and dies; Where but to think is to be full of sorrow And leaden-eyed despairs, Where Beauty cannot keep her lustrous eyes, Or new Love pine at them beyond to-morrow. Ivan Rebroff: The Nightingale

Here is another extraordinary song by the tsar Ivan, from 1968. Ivan Rebroff (born in 1931, real name Hans-Rolf Rippert) is a German singer of Russian origin with an extraordinary vocal range of four and a half octaves. He sings in German, Russian, French, English, Afrikaans, Italian and Greek. This athlete (195 cm and 115 kgs) is famous for singing Russian folk songs but also performs opera, light classics and folk songs from many countries. His stage performances have stunned audiences with their gusto, and occasional consumption of a fine red wine. He has received in his career 49 golden records. Rebroff describes himself as international, the "connection between 'East and West'" and lives on the Sporade Island of Skopelos, Greece. Ivan has performed over 7 200 concerts in his career in front of 5,8 millions of spectators, including a two year 7 day a week stint at the French opera, singing, among other greats, "Fiddler on the Roof". Being well in his 70's, in a recent Australian tour, Ivan still performed 12 shows in 14 days! Enjoy!

Earl Nightingale - on The Strangest Secret in the World

In 1956 Earl Nightingale produced a spoken-word record, "The Strangest Secret", which sold over a million copies, making it the first spoken-word recording to achieve Gold Record status. Shortly afterwards, he cofounded the Nightingale-Conant corporation with Lloyd Conant. "The Strangest Secret" and, "We become what we think about", are two phrases that have memorialized one of the greatest thinkers and inspirational men of our time - Earl Nightingale. Today, Earl Nightingale is remembered as the greatest philosopher of his time, and his best selling programs and books continue to sell daily, and inspire new generations around the world to reach their highest potential. Here are a few of Earl's quotes: "Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality." "Wherever there is danger, there lurks opportunity; whenever there is opportunity, there lurks danger. The two are inseparable. They go together." Okay. Tunde Nightingale ~ "The Original 'Owanbe' Sound" (Vol.1 Side 1)

song: "The Original 'Owanbe' Sound" (Vol.1 Side 1) artist: Tunde Nightingale Foundation Juju. Long out of print. Tunde Nightingale was perhaps the first musician to become a hit performer playing juju in the post World War II period. His particular spin on juju was known as "s'o wa mbe" (is it there?), a slightly risque reference to the beads worn by women under their clothes to make their dancing more sensuous. ~ Leon Jackson, All Music Guide Born in Ibadan in the 1920s, his contemporaries included Ayinde Bakare, IK Dairo and Dele Ojo. Nightingale was credited with the Owambe system, which was popular among Lagos socialites, who eagerly sponsored him on a tour abroad. When he returned, he signed with the TYC label and recorded over 40 albums in his career. Modern stars like King Sunny Ade and Queen Ayo Balogun continue to be influenced by his style. Apart from the fact that he "sounded," literally, like the proverbial singing bird, "Nightingale," he also kept a live Nightingale bird in his home. ~ Wikipedia Thanks to Rockitforme for posting this great music. rockitforme.blogspot.com miami 010309
