NJ Transit ALP-45DP's #4504 and #4501 at the MMC and Hoboken yards

I decided to go spend the day out in Hoboken, Newport, and Jersey City again. I start on a NJ Transit Gladstone Branch line train to Hoboken from Newark Broad Street to ride by the MMC yard again. As we enter the yard we see some MOW equipment along with a line of ALP-44's still sitting around. It's good to see that they are still on the property. We then see more Arrow III's ALP-46's GP40's F40's PL42AC's and an ALP-45DP test train that is hiding behind an Arrow III. When I got off my bus at Newark Broad Street I had walked away from the station. Had I stayed there I would have caught the test train as I saw it from a far distance. ALP-45DP #4504 is on this test train. As we continue to Hoboken we see many NJ Transit Comet V's sitting around along with more GP40's, F40's, and PL42AC diesels. Notice GP40PH-2's #4111 and #4112 coupled togeather along with a Metro North GP40FH-2 #4902 there. After getting off the train I spotted ALP-45DP #4501 idling away in diesel mode across from track 17 at Hoboken. These engines look great! After spending the day out there I board another train back to Newark Broad Street. I take a quick look at the World Trade Center as we pass by the ALP-45DP again. Shortly after we come back to the MMC where we pass by the huge mix of NJ Transit equipment. I have to say that day had a very impressive arrangement of equipment both electrics diesels. We then quickly pass by ALP-45DP #4504 which is still hiding behind an Arrow III train before passing ...

Exclusive! : NJ Transit ALP-45DP #4500 at MMC yard!

The ALP-45DP #4500 is at 2:39 and at 6:14 but watch whole video for more rail equipment! I board a Hoboken bound NJ Transit train at Newark Broad Street. Shortly after departing we see the buildings in Newark and as we continue we meet up with ALP-46A #4635 pulling a comet salad to New York Penn Station. ALP-46A #4635 blasts it's horn a few times for an Acela Express that is going to Washington DC Union Station. So as we continue ALP-46A #4635 catches up to us. As we enter the yard we then pass by a bunch of equipment then ALP-44M #4425 which has not been moved. We then pass by a ACES train followed by a bunch of multilevel and Arrow III EMU cars. Right after that I catch the brand new ALP-45DP #4500 coupled to multilevel cab car #7021 sitting with it's pantograph up! I was glad to catch this unique dual-mode engine and since the pantograph is up I think they will be testing soon! I do have to say the ALP-45DP is a huge and a very long engine! As we continue away from the ALP-45DP we continue to see more equipment sitting around the yard waiting for service or work. A nice mix of equipment was out there today almost all types of NJ Transit and some Metro-North locomotives! I then move to the other side to look at Secaucus where I see a NJ Transit ALP-46 pushing only 5 cars! That could have been an ALP-44 train. I also happened to meet ERIELACKU34CH on this train! While returning again we see a huge mix of NJ Transit and Metro-North equipment that is sitting waiting for ...

NJ Transit Railfanning at Ho-Ho-Kus day 3 part 1

Again I decided to go back to Ho-Ho-Kus to go railfanning. But first I start at Secaucus. First: NJ Transit Comet V Cab #6072 leads out of Secaucus going to Hoboken. PL42AC #4001 is pushing. Second: Shortly after NJ Transit GP40PH-2 #4112 pushes a Comet set to Hoboken also. I later get on the train and go to Ho-Ho-Kus. I also happened to meet trainman794 there. Third: NJ Transit GP40PH-2 #4101 leads a set out to Suffern. Comet V #6027 is trailing. Fourth: Metro-North F40PH-3C #4907 leads a Comet set into Ho-Ho-Kus going to Waldwick. Comet V #6713 is trailing. Fifth: NJ Transit GP40PH-2 #4108 is leading a train that only went to Ridgewood and is now deadheading to Suffern (I think) for a later run back to Hoboken. Comet V #6004 is trailing. Sixth: NJ Transit Multilevel Cab Car #7031 pulls into Ho-Ho-Kus going to Hoboken. A conductor gave us a friendly wave. PL42AC #4000 is pushing. Seventh: Metro-North GP40FH-2 #4903 flys around the curve pulling an express to Port Jervis. Comet V Cab #6706 is trailing. Eighth: NJ Transit PL42AC #4006 arrives into Ho-Ho-Kus pulling a train to Suffern. As this train stops the NJ Transit train that I took to Ho-Ho-Kus is deadheading back. I couldn't get a good shot but I got it through the cars. Comet V Cab #6058 is trailing. That finishes part 1! Thumbs Up, Comment, and Subscribe!

Amtrak and NJ Transit trains at Secaucus with a friendly engineer

One morning while going to New York I decide to watch a few NJ Transit and Amtrak trains at Secaucus. First: NJ Transit Multilevel #7051 is departing on track B going to Long Branch with ALP-46 #4626 pushing and at the same time an Amtrak Keystone train going to Harrisburg rolls out on the express track with AEM-7AC #943 pushing. Second: A 12 car NJ Transit Arrow III train arrives on track 2 going to New York Penn Station. Third: Once the Arrow III train departs another NJ Transit multilevel train departs on track B going to Dover with multilevel cab #7034 leading and ALP-46 #4602 pushing. Cab car #7032 is in front of ALP-46 #4602. Fourth: ALP-46A #4647 is leading it's multilevel train going to Trenton. Multilevel cab car #7043 is trailing in back. At this point I look out at the New York skyline and notice the top of One World Trade Center / The Freedom Tower so I decide to zoom in on the tower to see construction. At this point I have heard that it is officially taller than tower 7 and is making good progress. After a quick shot of the Freedom Tower I return to the trains. Fifth: A solid Metro-North comet V set is going to Hoboken with GP40FH #4901 pushing. I catch a meet with another solid Metro-North comet V set with GP40FH #4902 leading going to Port Jervis. I then zoom in on the first set as the train continues to Hoboken. Sixth: NJ Transit comet salad train to New York arrives with NJ Transit comet V #6044 leading. ALP-46 #4615 is pushing the set. NJ Transit and Amtrak Trains at Rahway Day 2 part 3 (Meet with NJ Transit Police)

I continued railfanning but I was later reported by a train crew to NJ Transit Police. I think I was reported by either the second engineer in ALP-46 #4622 or the engineer in PL42AC #4011 but either way NJ Transit Police showed up. I walked to the opposite platform to film more trains when the NJ Transit Police Officer approached me and asked if I had been taking pictures of trains. I told him yes because I am a railroad enthusiast and I am highly into trains. He then asked for my license to put into the computer. He stated that I was not in any trouble and needed my information to put into the computer because I was reported by a train crew. I then showed him the NJ Transit Photo Policy and after he reads it I give him my license. The NJ Transit Police Officer was polite and professional and did not make me leave the station. He stated that after 9/11 everybody is on a very high alert. He told me that he also has an interest in trains himself and mentioned that I should go to Hackensack to film trains. I then mentioned that NJ Transit had just got Dual-Powered engines and he also knows about them. Again the NJ Transit Police Officer was very polite and professional. Absolutely no problems at all. Just good cops protecting the rails. The encounter is from 3:54 to 6:56 After that I continued railfanning into the night. Rate and Comment!

NJ Transit trains at Newark Broad Street (Huge Delays)

This is my first video with the second camera. A Panasonic DMC-FP3 camera. I decided to go test out this new camera the other day and get a few NJ Transit trains at Newark Broad Street. However the editing software that is built into this camera is not compatable with the current movie editing software that is built into my other camera that is in for repairs, intelli-studio. So I had to find another movie editor that I could use for now until I get my origional camera back so if you can watch in HD and please tell me what you think about this camera and quality. Here at Newark Broad Street station we will see many NJ Transit trains running to and from New York and Hoboken. Due to a disabled train near Denville trains on the Morris & Essex lines where running about 45 to 60 mins late. First: ALP-44M #4425 pulls in with single level comets going to New York and then departs as an Arrow III train on track 3 departs for Gladstone. Second: The Newark Light Rail trolley car #104 pulls into Newark Broad Street station at street level to discharge passengers before turning around and going back to Newark Penn Station. Third: Another Newark Light Rail trolley car #110 pulls into Broad Street Station to discharge passengers while an Arrow III train departs going to Hoboken. Fourth: ALP-44M #4428 pulls in on track 3 going to Montclair State University. Once the train stops the conductor steps out and says "MONTCLAIR TRAIN!" Then after picking up passengers the train departs. Fifth ...
