It appears that Academy was using this bus for NYU shuttle bus services, but the most NYU markings besides the NYU logo on the back have been removed, since Academy now apparently uses NovaBus LFS buses on the NYU routes. Anyways, this bus was being used by Academy to provide shuttle service between MetLife Stadium and the IZOD Center parking areas.

This is a video of Volvo Buses' NovaBus LFX demonstrator seen on route 145 SFU. It is internally referred to as 1006, which I have used as this demonstrator unit does not have an official fleet number. This is also the final demonstrator unit that TransLink will receive to determine future bus purchases. Here's a good chance to test this unit's hillclimbing performance! NovaBus seems to have worked out most of the kinks in this model, though its performance going up Gaglardi Way is rather lacklustre. As always, thanks for watching, and enjoy the ride! This video was taken between Bernard Terminal and Major Mackenzie Drive. Note the automated announcements were not functioning properly (only shows the next stop for about 100 feet, then disappears), hence why the driver was calling out stops.

So some initial plans went wrong and I wound up going to Brooklyn to ride with my bud, who is now a driver for the MTA New York Transit Authority! Congrats to him! Taken at Allen Street & Grand Street Not the best shot, but its good enough, i'm sick at the moment but I took my chances. This here is a NovaBus Low Floor Standard Articulated Demonstration Bus being testing by the MTA on the M15 Route. The MTA has been looking for new artics since New Flyer and MTA have some difficulties. This bus will be in Manhattan for a few days then it will be in The Bronx area testing on the Bx19. These buses look very slick. Demo Bus #0055 is due to be in the New York City Area at February 9th, subject to change. It will be similar to this one but in Suburban Style, to be tested on Express routes in Staten Island & The Bronx. The bus has the following engine Specs Cummins ISL 330 HP Voith D864.5 Now that I made a slight timetable for this area, I may be able to get some interior videos of the bus! Its not a guarantee, its a possibility.

A very good night, my first actual time on these buses as a matter of fact. I was actually somewhat fortunate to be able to ride one of these earlier. They're actually pretty damn good buses. Powered by a Cummins ISL diesel engine and an ACTUAL ZF Ecolife 6AP1200B transmission these are somewhat unlike the 60-foot LFS articulateds. Oh, and no questions! Route and other info stays secret!
