Crawl Out Through The Fallout Music and Lyrics by Sheldon Allman Hi-Fidelity Records, Inc. [From the Long Play Album "Folk Songs for the 21st Century"] R-415 - Recorded 1960 Performed by: Sheldon Allman LYRICS: Crawl out through the fallout, baby, when they drop that bomb Crawl out through the fallout with the greatest of aplomb When your white count's getting higher, hurry don't delay I'll hold you close and kiss those radiation burns away Crawl out through the fallout, baby, to my loving arms through the rain of Strontium 90 Think about your hero when you're at Ground Zero and crawl out through the fallout back to me Crawl out through the fallout, baby, you know what I mean Crawl out through the fallout, 'cause they said this bomb was clean If you cannot find the way, just listen for my song, I'll love you all your life although that may not be too long Crawl out through the fallout, baby, to my loving arms while those ICBMs keep us free When you hear me call out, baby kick the wall out and crawl out the fallout back to me Cause you'll be the only girl in the world for me Why don't crawl out through the fallout back to me (Repeat last verse three times).

Teresa Brewer - 3 novelty songs for children - Choo'n Gum +

Recorded when she was around 18, on the London label 1949-1950. She was always good for fun songs. 1) Choo'n Gum - #17 1950 2) Molasses, Molasses 3) Punky Punkin - About a Hallowe'en pumpkin. Teresa started quite young. She successfully married at age 17. Started recording and had a number 1 hit at age 18 (Music Music Music). Was on the London label 1949-1951, then on Coral 1952 to 1962. Her first release on Coral was "Sing Sing Sing". The second had a song named "Lovin' Machine" which I'd like to find, doesn't it sound interesting. The third was "Gonna Get Along Without Ya Now". Infact if you read the liner notes inside of "East Of Edson" it explains how they came to cover it. Explaining how they saw The Arrogant Worms at a festival they also played on, Captain Tractor said they wantted to cover one song by the band, and stated this one was the one "they were least sick of hearing", and went on to cover it and get a (rightful) hit with it. www.youtube.com

Howlin' at the Moon - Hank Williams Sr.

Hank Williams recorded Howlin' at the moon in 1951, along with I Can't Help It (If I'm Still in Love with You). Howlin' at the Moon reached #3 in country charts. know there's never been a man in the awful shape I'm in I can't even spell my name, my heads in such a spin Today I tried to eat a steak with a big old table spoon You got me chasin' Rabbits, walkin' on my hands ...And Howlin' At The Moon. Well, I took one look at you and it almost drove me mad And then I even went and lost what little sense I had Now I can't tell the day from night, I'm crazy as a loon You got me chasin' Rabbits, pullin' out my hair and Howlin' At The Moon. Some friends of mine asked me to go out on a huntin' spree 'Cause there ain't a hound dog in this state that can hold a light to me I eat three bones for dinner today, then tried to tree a 'Coon You got me chasin' Rabbits, scratchin' fleas and Howlin' At The Moon. I rode my horse to town to day and a gas pump we did pass I pulled 'im up and I hollered WHOA!, said fill 'im up with gas The man picked up a monkey wrench and WHAM!, he changed my tune You got me chasin' Rabbits, spittin' out teeth and Howlin' At The Moon. I never thought in this old world a fool could fall so hard But honey baby, when I fell the whole world must have jarred I think I'd quit my doggish ways if you'd take me for your groom You got me chasin Rabbits, pickin' out rings and Howlin' At The Moon

Terry Scott - My Brother

Terry Scott was an English actor and comedian who appeared in several 'Carry On' films. He also appeared in a long-running BBC tv sitcom called 'Terry and June'. Terry's novelty record 'My Brother' was written by Mitch Murray and was based on a schoolboy character (he dressed in school uniform to sing it on TV), and the song was very popular on BBC Radio children's request shows for many years. In the 1970s, Terry revived the role in a series of TV commercials for a chocolate snack called Curly Wurly, in which he again dressed up as a schoolboy, complete with short trousers and cap. This copy of My Brother is from a vinyl single which was released in 1962 on the Parlophone label but failed to make a mark in the pop charts - despite its popularity on the radio. Sadly, Terry died of cancer in 1994 at the age of 67, but his film roles, and this song, still survive to keep us smiling.

Allan Sherman - Hello Muddah Hello Faddah (1963)

Great novelty song from Allan Sherman. LYRICS BELOW. Hello Muddah, hello Fadduh, Here I am at Camp Grenada Camp is very entertaining and they say we'll have some fun if it stops raining. I went hiking with Joe Spivy He developed poison ivy You remember Leonard Skinner He got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner. All the counselors hate the waiters And the lake has alligators And the head coach wants no sissies So he reads to us from something called Ulysses. Now I don't want this should scare ya But my bunkmate has malaria You remember Jeffrey Hardy They're about to organize a searching party. Take me home, oh muddah fadduh, take me home, I hate Grenada Don't leave me out in the forest where I might get eaten by a bear. Take me home, I promise I will not make noise or mess the house with other boys, oh please don't make me stay, I've been here one whole day. Dearest fadduh, darling muddah, How's my precious little bruddah? Let me come home if ya miss me I will even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me. Wait a minute, it stopped hailing, Guys are swimming, guys are sailing, Playing baseball, gee that's better, Muddah Fadduh please disregard this letter.

Daniel Teruggi: The novelty of concrete music.

It is sixty years since Pierre Schaeffer started "musique concrète" in Paris. Does it make any sense to go on speaking of concrete music today? Who are the composers who perform it? A reply to these two questions comes from this musical encounter of Tempo Reale, headed by Daniel Teruggi, composer and Director of Research, INA/GRM, the institution founded by Schaeffer himself. He led the listeners in a journey through the present day and the history of a musical genre which has had no mean influence on contemporary languages.

Halloween! - Bobby Pickett - Monster Mash - (HD Stereo)

www.oldiesradionet.com Find this stereo version here www.amazon.com Many other novelty hits in true stereo as well! from Wikipedia: "Monster Mash" is a 1962 novelty song and the best-known song by Bobby "Boris" Pickett. Pickett was an aspiring actor who sang with a band called The Cordials at night while going to auditions during the day. One night, while performing with his band, Pickett did a monologue in imitation of horror movie actor Boris Karloff while covering The Diamonds' "Little Darlin'". The audience loved it and co band member, Lenny Capizzi encouraged Pickett to do more with the Karloff imitation. Pickett and Capizzi composed "Monster Mash" and recorded it with Gary Paxton, Leon Russell, Johnny McCrae and Rickie Page, credited as "The Cryptkickers". This song was partially inspired by Paxton's earlier novelty hit "Alley Oop", as well as by the Mashed Potato dance craze of the era. The song is narrated by a mad scientist whose monster, late one evening, rises from a slab to perform a new dance. The dance becomes a hit when the scientist throws a party for other monsters. The producers came up with several low-budget, but effective sound effects for the recording. For example, the sound of a coffin opening was imitated by a rusty nail being pulled out of a board. The sound of a cauldron bubbling was actually water being bubbled through a straw and the chains rattling were simply chains being dropped on a tile floor. Pickett also impersonated the horror actor ...

Early 1950s Pop Music: "Silver and Gold" sung by Perry Como & Fontane Sisters (Aired live, 1952)

Another example of early 1950s pop music, this time "Silver and Gold" sung by Perry Como and the Fontane Sisters on a 1952 episode of "The Perry Como Show". A catchy novelty song. If you really need to know, Perry looks uncomfortable because he had just done a really poorly-written plug for the sponsor, one so bad that I refuse to upload it on YouTube (lucky that these embarrassing plugs/ads took up a fairly small amount of the show). If you want to watch the whole episode, which is actually quite good, it can be seen here: www.archive.org

Gayla Peevey..........I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas

Gayla Peevey (born 1943) is perhaps best known for her song, "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" (Columbia, 1953). A child star from Ponca City, Oklahoma, she was ten years old when she recorded the novelty song, which had been written by John Rox in 1950. The Oklahoma City Zoo capitalized upon the popularity of the song in 1953 through a fundraising campaign to "buy a hippo for Gayla" in order to bring a hippo to the zoo. (They had no hippopotamus at the time.) The song raised $3000. A baby hippo, named Matilda, was procured and flown in to Oklahoma City and presented by Peevey to the zoo.

Nagmahal Ako ng... by Dagtang Lason (Official Music Video) | Download mp3 and Lyrics

Nagmahal Ako ng Bakla is the novelty song of the year! An obscure rap group called Dagtang Lason uploaded their video on Youtube a year ago, which now so far has racked up more than 2.7 million views and counting. The song earned praise mostly from the gay male population for its honesty, while earning the ire of the female populace for branding them as an unfaithful lot and golddiggers. The Nagmahal Ako ng Bakla song, has since been released commercially and has been shortened to Nagmahal Ako. It is now the subject of a call by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) to ban the song for explicit lyrics. Another novelty song entitled, Banana, has caught the ire of the CBCP for its double entendre (double meaning) lyrics. Shawn Brown - Rappin Duke

"Rappin' Duke" is a 1984 hip-hop novelty song by Shawn Brown performing as The Rappin' Duke. The conceit of the song is that actor John Wayne (aka "The Duke") is performing the rap. (Wayne had died in 1979.) "Rappin' Duke"'s lyrics pay loving homage to Wayne's cowboy movie persona, boasting that he was the original rapper: "So ya think you're bad with your rap? / Well I'll tell ya, Pilgrim, I started the crap. / When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets, / I was at the Ponderosa, rappin' to the beat." The song's constant refrain is "duh-ha, duh-ha," a parody of Wayne's distinctive laughter, sung to the music's slow beat. The song uses the hip-hop vernacular to refer to contemporaneous rap musicians like Kurtis Blow and Run-DMC, and also parodies the opening to Chaka Khan's 1984 hit "I Feel for You": "Aretha Franklin! Aretha Franklin! / Aretha Franklin! / Let me rock ya, / Let me rock y'aretha Franklin! Let me rock y'aretha Franklin, / that's all I wanna do, 'retha Franklin." Lyrics also allude to Ronald Reagan's presidency. "Rappin' Duke" was widely played in 1985, peaking at 73 on the 1985 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Billboard chart; and also charting on the Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales for 1985. The song's success led to Brown opening in 1985 and 1986 for such groups as Bobby Brown and Stevie Wonder.[1] "Rappin' Duke" shares the beat from Too Short's "Blowjob Betty".[2]

78s - Sons Of The Pioneers - Cool Water

"Cool Water" is a song written in 1936 by Bob Nolan. It is about a man and his mule, Dan, and a mirage in the desert. In 1944, the Sons of the Pioneers moved to RCA Victor, signed up by the head of company's country music division, Steve Sholes (who was also later responsible for bringing Elvis Presley to the label). They would be associated with RCA longer than to any other label, 24 years broken by a brief one-year stint elsewhere. The change in labels resulted in the first major alteration in the Pioneers' sound since their founding. Previously, they'd been a self-contained outfit, providing virtually all of the sounds, vocal and instrumental, needed on their records. RCA, however, saw fit to provide the group's music with additional backup in the form of fuller instrumentation, including small-scale orchestration. At first, it worked reasonably well, as the Pioneers re-recorded several of their standards (including "Cool Water" and "Tumbling Tumbleweeds") with new arrangements that proved popular, and many fans regard their mid-'40s versions of their classic songs as the best of the many renditions that they recorded. They also recorded more gospel material as well as many pop-oriented and novelty songs. The Pioneers also provided backup for other performers throughout their time at RCA, including Rogers and Dale Evans, and Vaughn Monroe.

Mrs Miller - Monday Monday

Elva Ruby Connes (1907-1997), recorded under the name of Mrs. Miller. She was an American singer who gained some fame in the 1960s. Her versions of popular songs of the time were rendered in an untrained, operatic, vibrato-laden voice -- often out of tune and off the beat. This is her version of the Mamas & Papas hit "Monday Monday". Her whistling (not heard on this song) was equally wobbly. Apparently, she used to chill her lips with ice "to get a really good pucker!"
