☆ OCCUPY TOGETHER

VIRAL TRANSMISSION : OCCUPY WALLSTREET is a people powered movement in a show of solidarity for democracy that began in America on September 17 2011 and continues with an encampment in the financial district on Wall Street in New York City and spreading to 200+ cities across the US and the World. The bankers manufacture recessions & depressions to exert a greater control over social & political structures. The banksters create & finance the wars on both sides of the conflicts. The banksters orchestrate famine, poverty and debt. The banksters control the policies that control the media and the education system that is operated to maintain ignorance in the public, but we can change that. The American People are waking up. We were born free yet the system around us has been designed in such a deceptively clever way that you end up willingly giving up your god given rights. The veils are lifting, and no amount of mental or emotional distraction can stand in the way of a truth whose time has come, the game is rigged. The richest 1% of Americans possess more wealth THAN THE COMBINED WEALTH OF THE BOTTOM 90% and in intentionally orchestrated times of recession and depression the 1% are thriving with record profits. It's time the abuse and corruption of corporations, banks and governments reaches the spotlight. It's time to abolish the Federal Reserve and end corporate greed. Speaking from Manchester, NH Tuesday to discuss the American economy, President Obama was interrupted by protesters employing the "People's Microphone," a method of spreading news and alerts made popular by the Occupy Wall Street movement after demonstrators were denied usage of megaphones. "Mic check," a lone voice yelled during the president's speech, which prompted a boisterous echo from other protesters in the crowd. A series of call-and-response quips ensued, overwhelming the president and causing him to momentarily stop his speech. Though the chants were cut short due to a roar of cheers and jeers, the attempted message in full has made its way to the Web. "Mr. President: Over 4000 peaceful protesters have been arrested while banksters continue to destroy the economy,"protesters proclaimed. "You must stop the assault on our First Amendment rights. Your silence sends a message that police brutality is acceptable. Banks got bailed out. We got sold out." "We'll be talking about a whole range of things today and I appreciate you guys making your point,"responded Obama. "Let me go ahead and make mine, alright? Greetings citizens of the world, I'm not here today to address those who are already here. I'm here to bring a message to those who are not. And I ask of you not to hear me, but I want you to actually listen. I ask you not of agreement with what I am about to say, but I dare you to challenge everything I say. Prove me wrong: through research. It is likely that you find comfort in your current lifestyle, you are able to support your family, and the people around you are all living comfortably as well. Your future seem secure and safe, so why should you pay heed to these protests? They don't affect you or concern you. You may also think that we are just a bunch of lazy people that want more, while doing less, while you work very hard to attain a comfortable life for you and your family. Well then might I ask, "why are you working so hard?" There is enough food, land, and necessities to go around. why are you working so hard everyday? You have your own stressful problems to deal with, you don't have time to fool around with us. Why are you stressed? It has been proven that stress is bad for your health, and can lead to many unfavored health issues. So you would agree that this stress you have, is affecting you. Well then, lets take time to think about what causes that stress. competition at work, competing with others and competing to earn a sufficient amount of money to bring to the table for your family to maintain this comfort. UC Davis to probe Police brutality ~ 'Occupytogether

From: Press TV UC Davis to probe US police brutality Sun Nov 20, 2011 5:15AM GMT The University of California (UC) at Davis has announced that it would investigate a video footage showing a US police officer pepper-spraying peaceful protesters on the university campus. University Chancellor Linda Katehi said on Saturday that she would establish a taskforce of faculty members, students, and staff to review the incident. "The use of the pepper spray as shown on the video is chilling to us all and raises many questions about how best to handle situations like this," she said in a message posted on the university's website. On Friday, police officers violently confronted anti-corporatism protesters camping on the UC Davis campus, spraying the chemical irritant on students that were siting on the ground, refusing to leave their encampment. "The events of this intervention have been videotaped and widely distributed," Katehi added. "Police came and brutalized them and tore their tents down and all that stuff. It was really scary. It felt like there was anarchy everywhere," student Hisham Alihbob told NBC's KCRA television channel. The protest was being held in solidarity with the world-wide "Occupy" movements that began in September after a group of people rallied in New York's financial district with the motto of "Occupy Wall Street" to protest "corporate greed," top-level corruption, poverty as well as social and economic inequality in the US. But few would have guessed that the police brutality would reach the levels it has in recent weeks -- especially upon the orders of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who at first appeared to be an ally of the movement. And Stephen Colbert could not be more supportive of his "fellow One Percenter." After showing a press conference wherein Bloomberg explained his reasoning behind forcibly removing the protesters from Zuccotti Park as protecting the crowd, Colbert pointed to the thug-like, menacing cop who was sent in to "protect everyone's health and safety." "There he is, helping the wounded and the sick with his two fists, Florence and Nightengale." 'Occupy protests unprecedented in US' - #Occupytogether

From: Press TV News Analysis Occupy protests unprecedented in US' Wed Nov 16, 2011 7:42AM GMT The 'Occupy' movement in the United States is a historic structural transformation that might lead to a systemic change in the North American country, an analyst tells Press TV. "I've never seen anything like it and I think we have to grasp... the extent and scope of the crisis that's animating it," said Joel Kovel, academic and writer in a recent interview with Press TV. Kovel described the Occupy movement as a 'historical transformation, saying that the movement "can't really be stopped unless the system itself is changed." We are "facing a very fundamental crisis in our whole civilization," he said. Our whole civilization is under great threat from the same problem, which is the "deeply engrained" and "totally corrupt and murderous" capitalist system as it expands, he noted. The Occupy movement emerged after a group of demonstrators gathered in New York's financial district on September 17 to protest against the unjust distribution of wealth in the country and the excessive influence of major corporations on US policies. Despite the police crackdown and mass arrests, the Occupy movement, which grew out of the Occupy Wall Street movement, has now spread to major US cities as well as to Australia, Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, and other countries. www.presstv.ir .................................................................................... Protestors can return after the Park is cleared." A group of protesters estimates vary from 40 to 100 are refusing to leave the park. Peaceful protesters have been dragged out of the "kitchen" by their arms and legs while nonviolently resisting NYPD, which has also repeatedly tear-gassed people. rt.com ................................................................... 'Occupy Oakland' ~ Iraq war veteran Kayvan Sabehgi beaten by police - #Occupytogether

From: The Guardian Occupy Oakland: footage shows police beating 'peaceful' Iraq war veteran Oakland police investigating after ex-marine Kayvan Sabehgi suffered a ruptured spleen in apparently unprovoked incident Adam Gabbatt guardian.co.uk, Friday 18 November 2011 15.54 GMT Video footage has emerged of a police officer beating an Iraq war veteran so hard that he suffered a ruptured spleen in an apparently unprovoked incident at a recent Occupy protest in California. The footage, which has been shared with the Guardian, shows Kayvan Sabehgi standing in front of a police line on the night of Occupy Oakland's general strike on 2 November, when he is set upon by an officer. He does not appear to be posing any threat, nor does he attempt to resist, yet he is hit numerous times by an officer clad in riot gear who appears determined to beat him to the ground. Sabehgi, 32, an Oakland resident and former marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, has since undergone surgery on his spleen. He says it took hours for him to be taken to hospital, despite complaining of severe pain. Police have told the Guardian they are investigating the incident. The footage was recorded by artist and photographer Neil Rivas, who said Sabehgi was "completely peaceful" before he was beaten. "It was uncalled for," said Rivas. "There were no curse words. He was telling them he was a war vet, a resident of Oakland, a business owner." Sabehgi has previously said he was talking to officers in a non ...

'Occupy LA' ~ Police and Occupy protesters face standoff ~ #Occupytogether

From: The Telegraph Monday 28 November 2011 Police and Occupy protesters in Los Angeles face stand off As the midnight deadline passes for the police's planned eviction of a group of Occupy protesters from a city park, the two groups are left in an uneasy standoff. 1:07PM GMT 28 Nov 2011 The Occupy LA protesters were given a deadline of 12:01am on Monday to begin clearing out of the eight-week-old encampment outside of Los Angeles City Hall, but as the deadline passed no definitive effort has been made to force out the activists. The encampment is one of the largest on the West Coast and has grown to roughly 400 tents housing 700 to 800 people. By Sunday night the size of the crowd outside City Hall had further expanded as demonstrators from organised labour, clergy and civil rights groups joined the campers in a show of support. Police estimated the overall number of protesters to have been at least 2000. Los Angeles has been relatively accommodating to its Occupy group compared to other cities, with the city's Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa one point providing ponchos to campers when it rained. But after the collapse of negotiations aimed at persuading protesters to go voluntarily last week, the Mayor Villaraigosa said the encampment would have to go. www.telegraph.co.uk ................................................................................. Police attack and pepperspray protesters in Seattle, Washington - #Occupytogether

Video courtesy Chris Natale: www.youtube.com From: Russia Today Elderly and pregnant attacked at OWS (PHOTO, VIDEO) Published: 16 November, 2011, 21:36 While eyes and ears across the globe were watching Occupy Wall Street protesters reclaim New York's Zuccotti Park Tuesday night, on the other side of the US police brutally cracked-down on other OWS encampments in San Francisco and Seattle. In the aftermath of the raids that ravaged those two West Coast cities, more than a dozen protesters found themselves in jail cells, and both an elderly woman and a pregnant teenager tried to cope with the effects of overzealous and outrageous police assaults after surprise crackdowns carried out by police forces. In Seattle, Washington, a march through the city's downtown district late Tuesday turned grim after a pregnant 19-year-old girl who only gave her name as Jennifer was pepper-sprayed by police officers while participating in a peaceful protest. Vivid images of the girl crying in agony were captured while fellow demonstrators carried her to an ambulance so she could seek medical attention. A woman who gave her name as Jennifer and said she was two months pregnant is rushed to an ambulance after being hit with pepper spray at an Occupy Seattle protest on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Westlake Park.
