MSNBC on NYPD Police Brutality during Occupy Wall Street Lawrence O'donnell with "The Last Word"

An excellent piece of main stream coverage on this past weekend, I'm sure this video wont be up long, but figured the folks looking at the vids on this channel would appreciate it. Thanks for an excellent piece Lawrence O'donnel Follow the live stream of the occupy wall street protests here: www.livestream.com This may seem insignificant to some, but this is where REAL reform starts. These protests are filled with individual who have a quarrel with how corrupt our government and federal bank have become. Many have their own message, many just know they are not happy and want to create a better society for themselves and their fellow Americans. The corruption of the FED is avoided by the main stream media, make your own assumptions as to why, but one of the goals of these protestors is to bring light to some of these facts. The FED has handed out over $16 Trillion to private banks and corporations in the past 4 years and NONE of this was addressed in the mainstream news nor was it approved of by the people. This is clearly a red flag!! Look at these reputable links below that PROVE my statements are true, and spread them around. Dont allow these protestors sacrifices to be in vain!! Occupy Wall St. Continues

Occupy Wall Street protest taking place in New York's financial district has reached its fifth day. It started out with about 2000 people, but over the past couple of days those numbers have dwindled down to a few hundred. ThinkProgress.org attempted to send an email from their yahoo accounts with the words "occupywallst.org" in the message but when they tried to send it they got an error message. Any email sent with the words Occupy Wall St or Occupy WallSt.org were being caught in spam filters and blocked. Yahoo has stated that this was not on purpose. MSM: Occupy Wall St.

While the mainstream media has been spending endless hours having producers cut clips from last night's shows, like 'Dancing with the Stars', and wasting air time talking about the entertainment world, let's remember something that's going on in our very real world right now. That's Occupy Wall Street, the protest that's been taking place since Saturday, September 17th where an estimated two thousand people came out. Now four days in, there are about 150 to 200 protesters who still remain camped out in Zuccoti Park, dubbed Liberty Plaza. At least five people have been arrested but the mainstream media remains not entertained.

#OWS Protesters March On The Brooklyn Bridge 700+ Arrested 10-1-11

Protesters started marching up the pedestrian walk way over the bridge while others tried to take the traffic lane. For a few minutes officers held the line and then they turned around and led the way up the traffic lane on the Brooklyn Bridge. From what I saw no police told any of the protesters to leave until they created a barricade in front of the march about halfway through the bridge. They then pulled vans and buses up to the back of the group and started arresting everyone. In total over 700 people were arrested.

20000 Protestors To Occupy Wall St.

SALE TODAY: Learn Piano on iOS bit.ly The Huffington Post and Buzzfeed reports a group of activists plans to bring 20000 people to occupy Wall Street for months. In a statement spotted by Buzzfeed, Occupy Wall Street explains: On the 17th of September, we want to see 20000 people to flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices and we will not leave until that demand has been met. A YouTube video suggests the hacker group Anonymous will join the rally. The strategy behind the protest is to "use the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America," Occupy Wall Street explains. The Occupy Wall Street movement will demand an end to "the influence money has over our representatives in Washington." The organizers state:"The time has come to deploy this emerging stratagem against the greatest corrupter of our democracy: Wall Street, the financial Gomorrah of America". By attempting this occupation, the organizers hope to strengthen and amplify their message to DC that politicians must begin addressing the problem of special interests' influence on government. How successful will this effort be? Things could get sticky. An occupation of the Street has never been attempted before. Wall Street has a strong security presence, especially after September 11th, 2001. And it's not clear, with heavy NYPD ...

Peter Schiff Speaks for 1 Percent at Occupy Wall Street

Last week, Reason.tv followed investment guru, radio show host, and unflappable defender of capitalism Peter Schiff as he spent three hours among the Occupy Wall Street protesters in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park. An unapologetic member of "the 1 Percent," Schiff argued with all comers for the better part of an afternoon. Schiff is no ordinary observer. As the prinicipal of the financial firm Euro Pacific Capital, he's a full-fledged and unapologetic member of "the 1 Percent." As an outspoken radio show host and commentator, he not only predicted the housing crash and financial crisis, he railed bank and auto-sector bailouts as they were happening. Schiff believes that capitalism offers is the only hope for young, frustrated people to have a vibrant and prosperous future. So he went to Occupy Wall Street to engage and debate the protesters. Touring the Occupy Wall Street scene in New York with a sign that read "I Am the 1%, Let's Talk," Schiff spent more than three hours on the scene, explaining the difference between cronyism and capitalism, bailouts and balance sheets, and more. "The regulation we want is the market," said Schiff. "That's what works." Schiff describes himself as "sympathetic" to the plight of the OWS protesters, but thinks their anger is misdirected at legitimate business interests and should be better at the White House, Congress, the Federal Reserve, and the crony capitalists they've bailed out. Occupy Wall Street - 5 Minutes of Slow Motion Video - September 17

I was curious to see how this event would play out, so I shot from 8pm to 10pm on September 17 at the General Assembly in Zuccotti Park. I was touched by the sense of community, and impressed by the level of cooperation and discipline among the occupiers. The police presence was large, but they seemed to be under orders not to escalate conflict. Both sides were respectful and non-confrontational. This is a group of passionate, concerned, and intelligent people. Their behavior in the park suggested a great appreciation of democracy, and a desire to cut through the clogged media and political channels to communicate a message they feel is incredibly important. This video contains nearly five minutes of raw slow-motion clips that celebrate and document the faces and feelings of September 17. I wanted to get this out within 24 hours of the shoot. Anyone who knows me will understand what a monumental power of will it took for me to leave this largely unedited. :) I hope you enjoy it. -Eric Brown Song is "The Healer avec Modlee (Badu remix)" by VLOOPER: vlooper.bandcamp.com

David Graeber on the Occupy Wall Street Protest & Forgiving Debt of the American Poor

DemocracyNow.org - As President Obama prepares to outline a deficit-reduction plan that includes tax increases, as well as cuts to programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, anthropologist David Graeber proposes a radical solution: cancel the debt of the nation's poor. "Debts between the very wealthy or between governments can always be renegotiated and always have been throughout world history. They are not anything set in stone," says Graeber, author of "Debt: The First 5000 Years," on Democracy Now! today. "It's generally speaking when you have debts owed by the poor to the rich, debts becomes a sacred situation, more important than anything else. The idea of renegotiating them becomes unthinkable." On the Occupy Wall Street protest, Graeber says, "If you look at who showed up [in Egypt and Spain], it was mostly young people, and most of them were people who had gone through the educational system who were deeply in debt and who found it completely impossible to find jobs. ... The system has completely failed them ... If there's going to be any kind of society worth living in, we're going to have to create it ourselves."
