TITLE SAYS IT ALL! On 12-13-11, me and andross51 got a tip from penguingeneral2 there was a southbound DAYGO during the day, so me and him went over to oceanside station to catch it. Here Dash 9-44CW 4195 leads 5123 and 5196 south through oceanside station. DPU's 6747 and 5014 shove the train. At 3:42, me and andross51 wanted to hear the K3LA off 4195 so we (safely) raced south to carlsbad village and caught this DAYGO flying through the station. Oceanside's "Top Gun" Cottage
The Queen-Anne Victorian cottage that was used as Kelly McGillis' house in the 1986 movie "Top Gun" is featured in this "About San Diego" story. The 1887 house is in Oceanside, CA just north of San Diego. Plans are to relocate the currently abandoned historic house one block and restore it to its original appearance.

Deardarkhead takes its name from an anonymously written Irish poem of the 18th century "Cean Dubh Dilis", about a beautiful girl with black hair. They formed in 1988 on the banks of New Jersey. Over the years DDH has played with the likes of The Lilys, The Psychedelic Furs and Supergrass. This release, Oceanside: 1991-1993, will have something new for loyal fans as well as new ears. Their sound is a blend of post-punk guitar experimentalism as well as a heavy atmospheric dreampop aura. This release is completely remastered, some tracks previously unreleased as well as tracks never before on vinyl. Amtrak Surfliner "Rainbow Train" Stops at Oceanside - 2003
To date, this is the most colorful Amtrak train (not counting PV's) I've personally seen. A very neat mix of low level equipment on a 2003 equivalent of train 579. Phases 3, 4, 4b, and surfliner are all represented on this train. Good old dirty nose 455 leads with F59PHI 457 pushing. Enjoy!

www.BikeWearWorld.com and www.uRide.tv were on location in Oceanside, California for the Ironman 70.3. This event always rocks out. Because its the kick-off to triathlon season, it brings out the who's-who in the sport and features some of the top Ironman contenders. This video tries to capture the 2800 people racing and the energy, volunteers, and fans it takes to support an event of this caliber.

This is some pretty good footage I think. It's the continuation of the trip I made to exclusively film one of the many Heil PODs in Oceanside, CA in December 2009. Enjoy seeing Christmas trash handled by the POD and this cool, friendly driver. This city will be going automated later this year or next...so enjoy it while you have it. Nobody is sure what trucks they will be getting when that happens, so please do not ask.
