Humor Me - Comedienne Merrill Davis, Singer Oded Gross & Writer/Actor/Comedian Fred Raker

This show had everything, the very funny Merrill Davis telling us not only that she is a "too nice Southern Baptist Jew", but also how she was informally adopted by Ed McMahon and his wife. Then I asked singer/songwriter Oded Gross to play one of the worst songs he's ever written and he busted out "The Monogamous Hippopotamus" followed by a brilliant song that purposefully didn't rhyme. That's more than enough for most people, but this isn't a show about most people....so my friend; writer/actor/comedian Fred Raker checked in from San Francisco and shared a small part of his new one-man show "How To Make Your Bitterness Work For You." Nobody does it bitter or better than Fred in this show; he is truly the Carly Simon of bitterness. 0:00-0:30: Opening credits 0:30-6:55:Ed's monologue. He talks about the great show we're about to watch. Ed talks about the many games he plays with his daughter, and other stories from his past. 6:55-12:02: Ed introduces his guest, Merrill Davis. He talks to her about her past, growing up in Florida. 12:02-15:36: Merrill explains to Ed how she has trouble being mean to people. 15:36-16:41: Merrill's video, looking for a sidekick, specifically Ed McMahon. 16:41-23:25: Merrill talks about her celebrity friendships, including her trip to an all-black church with Ed McMahon... and Mary J. Blige. 23:25-30:58: Merrill talks about her stand-up performances back in the South. 30:01-31:51: "Donny Gets a Haircut" video 31:51-36:10: Oded Gross performs ...

Humor Me - Comedian/Writer Fred Stoller & Oded Gross

Fred Stoller has been on every show ever done including classics like Seinfeld, Friends, Raymond, many feature films and now his own independent film "Fred and Vinnie." He also tells a hysterical story of how a commercial casting director gave him word by word coaching so that he didn't sound too Jewish, then he started complaining about the air conditioning in the studio which made my night. Singer/songwriter Oded Gross outdid himself with two great songs; a tribute to pachelbel in the key of C without playing the black keys and an unusual love song for his wife which includes the word "aneurysm." 00:00-00:30: Opening credits 00:30-05:11: Ed's monologue, where Ed talks about "Post-Emmy Stress Disorder." He also talks about the many new stresses in his life as of late. 05:11-6:21: Ed introduces Oded Gross. 06:21-10:05: Oded sings a song, in which he plays a song in several keys, in fact that's the point of the song. 10:05-12:04: Ed has a post-interview with Oded. 12:04-14:03: "Fred and Vinnie" clip, the new movie starring Fred Stoller. 14:03-18:13: Ed begins to interview Fred, introducing him to his set. 18:13-22:18: Fred talks about all of his current projects, as well as his future ones. 22:18-25:20: Ed and Fred talk about the process of writing, and then acting out what has been written. 25:20-29:11: Ed and Fred talk about their roots together in San Francisco, particularly a specific car Ed used to drive. 29:11-35:00: Fred talks about his experiences as a frequent ...

My name is Morgan and Oded suggested I put this video up here because I directed, shot and edited most of the Oded Gross videos you know and love. Oded and I have been working together since we were teens, and there's a great role for him in this movie- if we get it financed! some Strings Of Comedy performers

We love music with a sense of humor. It's rare to find musicians who can crack you up with almost every line they sing. But they are out there. Some are widely known: Flight of the Conchords, Henry Phillips, Rodney Carrington, Kristin Key, Tenacious D, Adam Sandler, Jonathan Coulton, and Stephen Lynch to name a few. While some have built dedicated cult followings through college shows, music & comedy venues, and festival touring: Phil Johnson, Eric Schwartz, Chris Valenti, Oded Gross, Reigel & Blatt, Evan Wecksell, Vomit, and many, many more. The shows these performers give are always fun because not only do you sing along with the tunes, you bust out laughing as well. Many of these musical comics have started playing monthly shows together called "The Strings of Comedy."
