Those who know me personally or are at least long-time watchers of my channel know that I'm exceptionally good at squirreling away beer for a rainy day. Sometimes this ends up with a surreptitious find of a rare or old bottle. This is such a bottle. Victory Old Horizontal 2009. A very nice barleywine. Notes taken during the review: Dark caramel toffee color, off-white head dissipates quickly. Aroma is strong on sweet caramel and alcohol notes. Flavor has a strong candied sugar quality, nice earthy hop character drying on the back of the palate. Crisp carbonation becomes more apparent as beer warms. Zymurgical Explorations grade: B+

Do not try this unless you are a professional and know what you're doing. There is serious risk put on your life by opening up the back of a TV. The TV is an old CRT television that uses 2 coils, a horizontal and vertical deflection coil to route the electrons to where they need to be on the screen. By disconnecting these coils, and placing "dummy" coils in their place, you are allowed to apply current to them to make the electron beam fire where you want it. The vertical deflection coil runs at a much higher frequency than the horizontal, so you'll get better results by using the horizontal deflection coil as your input. You can see the difference in the video.

I attempted to correct the damaged horizontal hold problems with the orginal video footage and set the trip to GNU music from that decade. Image the fumes of gasoline 4 cylider model-t engines and horse dung as it dusted through the nostrils and the smell of the people who did not bath. All this on a warm San Franciso day under your fancy derby hat and jacket. Or maybe a corsette. It is interesting to see the curiosity of the people for the new fangled invention of a film camera. It is also neat to see how many police officers there are along the streets which leads one to reflect on the days of the wild wild west. Anyway enjoy the film and the thought provoking and inspirational message at the end. After all, everyone in the film had their shot at life. I Frankensteined a 3-1/2hp Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine model 92502 into a Horizontal shaft engine for use on a go-kart. This was done about 7 years ago, the engine ran fine, we used it at least 10 hours, then took it off, and bolted a 5hp Briggs onto the go-kart. Then it had the power to do a burn out on dry pavement, as it used hand kart tires about 3 inches wide. A friend did the crankshaft machining, as well as the aluminum welding, he always does excellant work :) I made the new carb. holder, and modified the starter cover, and cut the hole in the bent plate, which another friend bend for me. It is nice to have friends!, and lots of spare engines to borrow parts from! :)
