But since the monitor was discontinued this year, the price has dropped to $44, which makes it a much more attractive option for filming. The monitor is still only standard definition, but it does have an audio amplifier and a built in battery. On top of that it has a very handy wide screen mode that allows you to use the whole screen instead of the center section of the screen. On the down side batteries are a bit pricey at $20 a pop, the screen isn't extremely bright, and the 1/4 20 hole on the bottom of the monitor isn't quit 1/4 20 ( I had to us a tape to clean out the threads). Before I used a preamp xlr device if i needed independent audio level controls. This is a quick demonstration of the audio through (thru) function on the MPC 1000. This allows you to listen to the midi enabled instrument well sequencing samples or recording other instruments. Its a very handy feature of the mpc 1000 and allows you to do monitoring and mixing with out having an extra mixer. Always hearing people talk about how much of a pain it is to use a software synthesizer with the MPC, so i thought i'd give it a try, In this video I'm using A Korg Nanokey to control FM8 VST plug-in, with no special sound card, just the laptop headphone jack out directly into the MPC 1000 record jack.
