
Hello, friends! Jason Heine here, with another special edition of The Emulator Review! I wanted to take a closer look at the new "OnLive" service. This service allows you to play games on your Mac, PC, or HDTV whether the game was formatted for a specific operating system or not. The big thing is that you can play PC games on your Mac! And of course, you can also play games on your PC. Going the extra mile, if you buy their "OnLive Game System" (which consists of a single 360/PS3 hybrid controller and a "Game Data Converter" that plugs into your TV through an HDMI port) you can play all these games on your TV! The service works as such: you purchase games via the system, then stream them to your PC/Mac/HDTV with this converter box, and play right on your screen. What a great concept! The service is completely free — that's right, no monthly fee! You only pay for the games you want to buy and play. There are many free demos available as well! I played "Dirt 2″ for a few moments in this video, until I totaled my STI . . . The list of games is still growing, so if you're new to the service, don't expect hundreds of titles. One of the cooler features is that you can go into the "arena" and play spectator to total strangers while they play games. You can then add them as friends, send them e-mail messages, and even join their current game!
