"More Bounce To The Ounce" was an influential funk single recorded by the Ohio-based band Zapp, led by singer-songwriter Roger Troutman. Released in 1980 on the Warner Brothers Records label, the song was originally recorded in 1979 while Troutman's group was part of George Clinton's Uncle Jam Records. When the label folded due to tensions Clinton had with Warner Brothers Records (his label dispute also ended the releases of Parliament and Funkadelic albums after 1981), Troutman and the group moved to sign with the parent label cutting ties with Clinton. The song, which featured Troutman playing nearly all the instruments including his famous vocoder/talk box in which allowed him to perform all the vocals on the song. Roger's production of the song (Bootsy Collins, who played guitar on the song also, co-produced it as well) would later often be sampled by hip-hop artists ranging from classic hip-hop artists such as EPMD to gangsta rappers such as Ice Cube and The Notorious BIG The original song eventually reached number two on the Billboard Hot Selling Soul Singles chart, setting the group and its front man on their way to a successful tenure on the R&B charts throughout the 1980s. Nevertheless the BM Nim Cub II gives us a perfectly sized 3.5 inch 154CM stainless blade that holds much utility and maybe a little tactical capability as well. The sharp jimping, deep fingerguard, and perfect balance help to solidly lock the Nim Cub in hand. The sheath is a homerun: super light, nylon so as not to absorb water (but still quiet), drain hole, easily MOLLE attachable, and it has heavy duty SNAPPED retention strap. About the only downside I can detect is the high price (lower value) of the blade. But that's life when buying the US Made the Benchmade "Blue Line." The company says this knife was designed in collaboration with airborne military personnel. If that's the case, then their consultants got it right and wisely chose the features and sizing of this fixed blade. I think it will excel at the both deployment and outdoor cutting tasks. Accordingly, the little Nim Cub II will enter several of my BEST knife playlists due to its superb balance, lightweight, excellent sheath, and quality. I would choose this knife over the Rat Cutlery RC4 for these attributes (and it's cheaper and stainless). Soldiers and backpackers alike will love the portability and high utility of the Nim Cub II. In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Christmas Coconut Bonbons. These bonbons are made of butter, confectioner's sugar, sweetened condensed milk, pecans, and coconut, and then dipped in chocolate for a fantastic Christmas treat! Ingredients: ½ cup butter, softened 16 ounce box confectioner's sugar ½ of a 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk 3 ½ ounces flaked coconut 1 cup finely chopped pecans 12 ounce bag of semisweet chocolate chips 1 ounce paraffin (optional) In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup butter and a 16 ounce box of confectioner's sugar. Stir until well blended. Mix in ½ of a 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk, 3 ½ ounces of flaked coconut, and 1 cup of finely chopped pecans. Form mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a shallow baking pan that is lined with waxed paper. Chill balls for ½ to 1 hour in the refrigerator. In a double boiler, melt 12 ounces of semisweet chocolate chips and 1 ounce of paraffin (if desired). Use a toothpick to dip balls in melted chocolate mixture. Place on a large pan or platter that is covered with waxed paper. Chill, until ready to serve or store. When ready to serve, place the chilled bonbons on a nice serving plate, removing any excess chocolate that has stuck to the bottom. These can be made ahead and frozen. Just thaw them for a couple of hours before serving them. You may leave theses bonbons at room temperature or keep them refrigerated. They keep well when stored in a covered container.
