The challenge during take-off [due to strict SAFETY Standards] was to achieve proper camera angle out the cockpit and side windows from a seated position facing backwards towards the tail of the aircraft below the flight deck. It was kinda like shootin' from the hip facing the wrong direction with fairly good accuracy. My hope is this inspires ALL to support and contribute to such a valiant, honorable representation of our love and support we all share for every veteran, both young and old, with us and deceased, for their sacrafice in their fight for our freedom and liberty that many times seems taken for granted. It's why "Aluminum Overcast" is touring the country making a stop at Centennial Airport in Colorado in association with Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. In this video, you'll see exactly what everyone who flies aboard the aircraft gets to see when they make a flight. We'll be shooting more video this week, look for a more polished version when we're done shooting. We always spend multiple days with Aluminum Overcast, this was just one afternoon. There's no telling how much longer passengers will be allowed to fly in old planes like this, or even how much longer the planes will be allowed to fly. It's not cheap, but I knew I would always regret not taking a flight if I got the chance. - What really surprised me was how it was perfectly ok to touch the plane, climb around under and into the wheel wells, etc. without worrying about an overzealous crew member yelling at you. Once airborn, the crew encouraged passengers to get up and explore the plane. Everything was accessible except for the tail gun and ball turret positions. - I saw a few WW2 vets and the crew members treated them like royalty, listening intently to their war stories.
