I have pushed the T-Mobile G2's processor to new heights. Originally relegated to just 806MHz, I've managed to push my G2 to over 1.42GHz. That's an improvement of over 600MHz (faster than the stock speed of the original Droid!). Linpack scores went from ~33 max to ~50 max. Quadrant scores are nearly off the chart, topping out in the high 2300s. With slight modifications and a re-compile, this WILL work on the Desire Z, Desire HD and myTouch HD. This was achieved using a kernel module, since we don't have permanent root yet. You still need temporary root! Kernel patches for developers here: forum.xda-developers.com After some kernel tweaking, I got the EVO 4G to 1.267GHz, up from the stock 998MHz. Linpack results jumped from ~6.9MFLOPS to ~8.8MFLOPS. That's almost a 30% increase in speed! The SetCPU long benchmark jumped by a substantial amount too! It's a fairly straightforward modification, but overclocking does require a slight voltage increase over stock. Froyo should make this thing a lot faster, and we can even undervolt/underclock to save battery (we all know the battery life on the EVO isn't exactly the best)! This *should* also work on the HTC Incredible, because they both use very similar silicon, but there are no guarantees - the Nexus can't get this high, for example. Thanks to toastcfh for his source, Hero_Over for creating the first booting overclocked kernel on the EVO, all the kernel devs in the N1 community, especially pershoot and kmobs, and richardtrip from the Desire community, and all who helped to root the EVO 4G.

A graphics card overclocking tutorial using MSI Afterburner and MSI Kombuster. I try to keep it as simple as I can, but once you start increasing core voltage on your graphics card, there is no real rules that you can stick to. Costis is screwing around with the clock on a GBC and I just couldn't keep myself from trying it out. He quoted some pretty insane max clock speed and I wanted to see whether it would really go that high. Turns out it goes pretty high: ~24Mhz (~3x) for GBC games, and ~48Mhz (~6x) (!) for GB games. Normal speed is 8.338Mhz input, though GB games internally run at half speed (~4Mhz), which is why they can run much faster. This is just a GBC hooked up to a frequency generator implemented on a Spartan-3E starter kit. No extra mods were done to the GBC. I plugged in my desktop speakers to the audio jack so you can hear it better. The BIOS ROM can actually run at over 70Mhz but the screen glitches up pretty weirdly and my setup is too crappy to make it stable. In this video I give you a step by step tutorial on how to overclock your T-Mobile G2. This is definitely the easiest way to do it, and it's very easy to clock it back down to 800 Mhz - all you have to do is reboot the phone. Make sure you have the following applications installed for this tutorial: VISIONary, Astro, XDA, Gscript (free or paid versions both work), and SetCPU. If you reboot your phone the overclock will be lost and the root will be lost aswell (unless you have VISIONary re-root upon reboot). All you have to do is re-root the phone with VISIONary and click on the overclock script within Gscript. Takes 20 seconds at most.
