I'm Joslyn Davis with hot scoop from my friend Robyn Ross over at TV Guide. She just chatted with Julie Plec, the woman in charge over on The Vampire Diaries, all about what's in store for season 3. I'm guessing that most of you are dying for some answers regarding the whole Damon-Stefan-Elena love triangle. The close of season 2 left things in a more complex state than even we could have imagined. So will the Damon-Elena kiss change things for good in Mystic Falls? Well Julie Plec said that Damon's "entire journey had been 'I'm not worthy of you' and at the end of the season, as he's dying, [Elena] tells him 'yes, you are; you're worthy.'" Julie added that she "thought it was really important and a really nice ending to that journey," however she also notes that in their world "the end of any journey opens up the beginning of a whole lot of drama." Plus, now that Stefan is semi-out of the picture, the door is wide open for Damon to swoop in and save the day. As far as Stefan is concerned, Julie reveals that when the show returns "no one will have heard from him, no one will have seen him and the audience won't know where he's been and what he's going through is going to be pretty surprising." Hello TVD fanatics -- I'm Joslyn Davis in our ClevverTV Hollywood studio breaking down the leading lady in Mystic Falls, Elena Gilbert. Both the executive producer of the show Julie Plec, and the actress who plays the role, Nina Dobrev, have recently spoken out about Elena and who exactly she is and who she will hopefully be in the future. We aren't the only ones out there who have noticed that Elena has come upon quite a few hard times this season. Nina Dobrev indirectly told the New York Post that she'd like Elena to get a little break from all the drama in her life, and maybe even "smile a bit." Of course the actress understands the nature of the show, but she thinks that Elena "needs to lighten up because if she becomes this constantly crying character, it makes her weaker. She needs to begin to have a real life again, because right now she's consumed by chaos." Well Nina, that does sound like a great idea, but TVD's executive producer told our friends at TV Guide that "profound loss and that journey" is part of who Elena is and will continue to be...especially since she has no parental figure in her life and will have to be somewhat of a surrogate parent to Jeremy now.
