www.military-today.com The Patria AMV (Advaced Modular Vehicle) armored personnel carrier was developed by Patria in association with the Finish Defense Force. The main goal was to design a platform with better protection, greater mobility, payload and internal volume, than current XA-203 6x6 APCs. The first prototype of the AMV was built in 2001. Finish Army ordered a total of 86 AMVs in various configurations. First vehicles were delivered in 2003 and production commenced in 2004. Export operators are Croatia, Poland and Slovenia. The Patria AMV is known as the KTO Rosomak (wolverine) in Polish Army service. Republic of Macedonia and the United Arab Emirates have also ordered undisclosed amount of Patria AMVs.

The Patria AMV (Armored Modular Vehicle) is an 8x8 or 6x6 multi-role military vehicle produced by the Finnish weapons manufacturer Patria. The first prototype was produced in 2001 and the first vehicles were delivered to the Finnish Army in 2003. Serial production was started in 2004. The main feature of the AMV is its modular design, which allows the incorporation of different turrets, weapons, sensors, or communications systems on the same carriage. Designs exist for different APC (armoured personnel carrier) and IFV (infantry fighting vehicle) versions, communications versions, ambulance versions and different fire support versions, armed with large caliber mortar and gun systems. One very important feature is that the AMV has a top-class mine protection and can withstand explosions up to 10 kilograms (22 lb) TNT.

Led by pianist and musical director Rafael Ithier (born: Rafael Ithier Eddie Perez), El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico is one of Puerto Rico's greatest dance bands. Four decades after their inception, the 13-piece salsa group continues to inspire dancers with its horn-punctuated Latin rhythms and lush vocal harmonies. Officially named "Ambassadors of Our Music" by the Puerto Rican Senate, El Gran Combo's many hits include such classics as "El Menu" and "Timablero." Their 1978 album, En Las Vegas sold more than one million copies, while its follow-up, In Alaska: Breaking the Ice was nominated for a Grammy. A longtime member of popular Latin band, Cortijo y Su Combo, Ithier formed El Gran Combo in 1962, with eight of his bandmates including percussionist, dancer, chorus singer, and salsa bandleader, Roberto Roena. The Puerto Rican release of the group's debut album, Acángana, recorded two days before the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, was delayed until it had already been released in Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, and the United States. El Gran Combo continued to expand its following in the early '60s, performing to enthusiastic crowds in New York, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela. In Puerto Rico, they appeared regularly on the popular television show, El Show de Las 12. Patria NEMO - The Most Advanced Mortar System
NEMO (NEw MOrtar), is a single 120 mm unmanned mortar turret currently being developed by Patria Weapons System Oy in Finland. It is a lighter version of the AMOS mortar system, which is also being field tested. The NEMO can be fitted to most APCs and also to smaller landing craft, like the Finnish Jurmo class landing craft or the Swedish Combat Boat 90.
