The Patriot - Battle of Camden Movie Clip (HD)
On the foggy morning of August 16, 1780, American and British armies clashed in the pine woods north of Camden, South Carolina, in one of the most important and influential battles of the Revolutionary War. An American victory would quash British plans to subjugate the Southern colonies and virtually guarantee the independence of the fledgling United States. A victory for the British would pave the way for the conquest of North Carolina and Virginia. After nearly an hour of frenzied, bloody combat, the British army emerged victorious, and American morale plummeted to its lowest point of the war. The rout at Camden was not a total loss, however, as Patriot forces eventually came away with a renewed determination to resist British advances, and the lessons from the defeat were applied to secure future victories that finally allowed the Patriots to triumph in the South. This engaging new book presents the Battle of Camden as never before: through the eyes and words of American and British participants and contemporary observers. The events leading up to the conflict, the combat itself and the consequences of Camden are all described in striking detail. A Mel Gibson film,one of my favourate films,and I love the music very much,so,I made this. The Patriot tells the story of Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson), a widowed father of seven children, as he tries to keep his family together during the Revolutionary War. He had fought in the French and Indian War, since married and started a family. He has tried to put his actions in that war behind him, but still carries some guilt and regret from those actions. He fears that his past will come back to haunt him. When war breaks out, his eldest son Gabriel (Heath Ledger) joins the fight against his wishes. Benjamin soon ends up reluctantly joining the fight as well. His successfully leads a militia band against the British until Colonel William Tavington (Jason Isaacs) is ordered to do everything he can to capture or kill Martin and his South Carolina militia.

The Patriot
It is South Carolina, and the spirit of 1776 fills the air throughout the thirteen American colonies. Rebellion is brewing, taxation from the British crown is taking a toll on the American colonists, and a conflict with England is inevitable. Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson), a veteran of the French and Indian War, has renounced fighting forever to raise his family in peace. However, as his sons Gabriel (Heath Ledger) and Thomas (Gregory Smith) become young men, they get swept up in the American Revolutionary War movement to oust the Redcoats by force. But the brutal British Colonel William Tavington (Jason Isaacs) captures Gabriel and sentences him to hang. As Gabriel is being taken away, Thomas is shot by Tavington as he tries to free him, leaving Benjamin no choice but take up arms in the militia and the fight to give the young American nation its freedom. moviezdb.blogspot.com As a fan of historical films, I really enjoyed the movie " The Patriot" starring Mel Gibson who skillfully portrays the role of an American colonial during the Revolutionary War. Actors like Gibson have a talent for making history come alive on screen and engaging the audience. The movie held my interest. It was never dull or slow. The sets were just great and I often felt like I was in the middle of a battlefield. I loved the flashes of color, cannons blazing, colonial flags waving, the columns of British soldiers dressed in their best and brightest uniforms and the array of women and children who were colorful parts of colonial America. All in all, this was well worth the watch and a real change from the usual long list of action packed, special effects films which are a bit overdone.
